Hi
I am getting really good results with Skinceuticals C and B5 in reducing sun spots but progress is slow.
Has anyone tried their either of the above products and which one would you recommend?
Thanks

Hi Fatsia,
Of the two products you listed, only the vitamin C serum has the potential to reduce sun spots. The B5 is a hydration gel that goes over the top of the vitamin C serum (which tends to dry out some skins, or at least certain formulations). I would recommend you use both if you find that the vitamin C dries out your skin. I think it's really important that you use sunblock (clearly, because anything spot fading that the vit C could do would be reversed by not having sun protection) and you might also like to try something like Skinceuticals Phyto+ which is a gel that specifically targets these spots.

I have been using skinceuticals and now Vivier vit C for over 3 months. I do use the phyto+ but not religiously. Honestly I am not sure it has done much for my spots but I am thinking maybe it would take much longer than 3 months to work. Anyone else? |

Wil this product reduce pores on the cheeks (underneath the eyes)?
Thank you. |

I've been using the phyto+ with C+AHA and B5 gel for nearly 2 months now and similarly I haven't noticed any fading of my spots. I'm continuing to use it to give it more time. The C+AHA has made the biggest difference though to my skin.

I have found the best combo (for me) for reducing hyperpigmentation is C serum in the AM (followed by sunscreen) and Retin-A 0.025% cream at night. I had a bad case of melasma along my jawline which hydroquinone and Retin-A could not remove. I dropped the HQ, started the C, and voila, success. I'm still using the C, but alternate the Retin-A with a 10% AHA serum now. Still clear of the dark areas. (Do remember that daily sunscreen is a MUST to maintain any results...) |
