Just curious if any of you wear makeup or sunscreen as it gets washed away anyways? I guess from my house to the indoor pool, I need ss too? And then reapply again after swimming when I go back outside again?
I know it's kinda weird to wear foundation or powder to swim but what if I'm very self conscious of how I look bare faced? Any suggestions or I just suffer thru it during the swim. I'm actually going with my bf. I know my bf doesn't mind but just feel weird bare faced in the public around other ppl... Any suggestions? I guess not right? |

I'm in training to be a swimming instructor so I know what you mean. I use Dior tinted moisturizer because I too have a small psychological barrier. I want to present myself in a manner that I am comfortable with. I actually find it works fairly well. When we are outside we would be wearing sunscreen so I can;t see how it would be so different. I hope someone else can pipe up!
There are many water proof formulas on the market especially for summer. I'll take a gander later tonight if I have time.

i use a really nasty thing that i don't otherwise put on my face for political and aesthetic reasons: aquaphor. i use it because it doesn't move away from the skin, and forms a water-tight barrier. it works!
i also put an oil-based hair mask in my hair underneath my cap, and wet my hair too--also to prevent leeching of my own applications into the water as much as leeching of chlorine into those parts of myself i work hard to prettify and maintain on a daily basis.

callalily, is the Dior tinted moisturizer waterproof? I guess any waterproof stuff would work? The thing is I believe if it's just water splashing on your face, it might be fine. But what if you touch your face by accident with your wet hands, I'm afraid the makeup might rub off?
avalange, what's aquaphor? Some name of a foundation? I believe it's waterproof also?
Thanks girls! |

There are 2 that are a bit heavy and you need to get the application down, both are totally waterproof and even cover birth marks and port wine stains. You can tweak the coverage somewhat.
Covermark and DermaBlend. They are full coverage foundations. |

It stays on fairly well and I'm in the water for four plus hours at a time... One of the teens in my swimming class actually complimented me on my skin. for me it's more of a confidence thing in leaving the house. Try it out. They'll let you put some on at the Dior counter. They let me
Any more swimming/beauty questions I'd be happy to help! |
