Hi! I just tried my first green smoothie today! I bought one at the store... it was light green unlike the BRIGHT green one I made myself.. I just couldn't get the bright green one down w/o gagging!
I was wondering what specific results you have seen in your skin from drinking green smoothies? In what amount of time did you start to see them? I know there is a whole awesome thread on feeding your skin with smoothies and there are tons of great recipes, but I'd like to know what they did for your skin.
Thanks!! |

As far as visual results go, I can't say because I am a carnivore of supplements and they play their parts too! I have been taking them for so ling and drinking the shakes, it's just a part of my daily routine. Work out, drink a shake.
But physically, they give me energy as soon as I drink one and I feel fuller for the day without feeling the need to snack. Sort of satisfying my cravings. They seem to revive my aching muscles after a workout and keep my digestion on track.
But I do notice if I haven't had one in a while, like weeks when I am out, my skin does seem to be more temperamental than usual.
Combined with a good amount of water, they seem to help me keep a glow, especially when I don't eat well and am on the run a lot.
It's more of an overall feeling of wellbeing, I guess. |

i totally agree with Annie R. the glowing skin is a side effect of overall total well being and health.
when i am drinking my green smoothies, i have a lot of energy, sleep better, drink more water, exercise, etc.
when i'm traveling or life is too hectic, all of the above slip out of my routine, so i like to think of it as my holistic healthy everyday regime.
also, everyone's smoothie is so different. mine includes pumpkin, which is absolutely anti-inflammatory and really ups the vitamin load of the smoothie:

i also add raw almonds, pineapple, and blackberries.
