Hi! I know a lot of people on this forum have posted about having an allergic reaction to some Dr. Hauschka products, but I was wondering if anyone knew what ingredient(s) would cause some many people to react?
I started Dr. H's Quince Day Cream and Shiseido Sun Protection Lotion SPF 38 at the same time and within a couple of days I noticed some rough skin on my neck and shoulders which eventually spread to my face and started to turn red and white bumps began to appear. Once I stopped Dr. H's day cream, the rash and bumps eventually went away. But I'm not sure which of the MANY ingredients I am allergic to. Is there even a way to tell? so I can avoid them in future. |

If I am not mistaken there are essential oils in most of his products, many can be sensitive to any one. Can you list the ingredients in the products? What is in there that you have not used in the past? Also if the concentration is too high that could be problematic. People have reacted to things not EO's as simple as Avocado or Olive oil! |

Thanks for the response!

I was using Aveeno Ultra Calming with SPF 15 before (I'm trying to revamp my skincare routine ) but I can't find the ingredients list online. I've never had an allergic reaction to any topical products or oils before, so I was really surprised when I noticed something abnormal. |

I have in all 56 years had it once but even though it was just around my eyes I used the product on my whole face?
I see they list essential oil in there but not which one. There are many possibilities that you may be sensitive to, and a reaction can show up at anytime. Have you ever used anything with quince before? I know it's a guessing game but with so many ingredients it is hard to pin down a culprit. |

Ha ha, yeah, it is pretty difficult to determine what could have caused a reaction. I don't think I've used many of the ingredients before, or am even familiar with a lot of them. I don't think I've used quince seed or wax before, or Marsh Mallow leaf extract. But my initial guess was that fragrance was the culprit as well. Thanks for trying to help find the cause |

Many things are common in a lot of skin care products, The essential oil or the quince may be the most likely culprits. I would email the company with your reaction and ask what essential oil/s are in there and at least you could avoid them. They may refund you for your purchase after such an adverse reaction. Wish I could help more! Sorry this happened at all! |

Do you by any chance have a sensitivity to latex? I have read that those who are sensitive to latex may also be sensitive to shea butter due to the natural latex it contains. |
