Me and my stupid ideas! I decided to purchase Caudalie Gentle Buffing cream. I used this product on Sunday morning afterward I noticed my face was severely irritated. So Monday and Tuesday came. Now it's Wednesday and it's looks like I have Rosacea. Has anyone had this type of reaction before? I don't think I could develop Rosacea that quickly.
I was thinking about purchasing some hospital grade Manuka honey, it's supposed to help with irritation.
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them!

Sorry to hear about your poor skin. I get this a lot as I have very sensitive skin and get eczema on and around my eyes.
There are 2 things that I use when my skin flares up badly and they are Pure Aloe Vera gel, preferably out of the fridge, and Emulator oil (like emu oil but not from emus!)
I find that the steroid cream I got from my Doctor doesn't do much and I hate putting it on my face as it makes my skin so thin.
I don't use anything else when I get a bad flare up - just one of the above overnight and usually find that the irritation has gone down by the next day.

Here is the ingredient list, lots of essential oils and extracts, whatever it may be you may want to see if there is an ingredient that is new to your skin and avoid it in the future.
For now I would use a very mild moisturiser and allow your skin to calm down.
• Ingredients
grape-seed oil
jojoba microbeads
honey
plant cellulose
liquorice, essential oils of sweet lime and sandal wood
extracts of coriander, limette, lemon, guaiac wood, sweet orange, vetiver, sandal wood and lavandin... |

This has happened to me before with DHC Deep Cleansing Oil and the culprit as I discovered was the Olive oil in its base. My skin came up in a lumpy red/itchy rash on my cheeks and neck. It was terrible. The only thing that calmed it down was a very basic skin care routine of Cetaphil cleanser and some hydrocortisine cream that I got from the chemist.
Once you know what the ingredient is, you can try to eliminate that from any future purchases. |

I second the hydrocortizone cream - the stuff you get at the pharmacy is really weak so you needn't worry about thinned skin, and if you use it for only a few days, you should see a clear up. It is the only thing that has helped me when I get these types of break outs. Any time I have tried to moisturize when my skin was like that, it got worse. Also, I have found that oatmeal helps. If you put a quarter of a cup in a wash cloth and tie it closed with a ribbon, you can dunk the wash cloth under water and get a milky liquid from it that cleanses your face and can help calm down the reaction. When I am like that any cleanser makes my face burn, so I use the oatmeal - but not around your eyes! I tried that and got bits of oats in them! |

Thank you for your reply! I was thinking Aloe Vera Gel would help. At Whole Foods they sell Aloe leaves, I was thinking I could purchase some of those.
I've never heard of Emulator Oil! It sounds great where do you purchase yours from? I can't stomach using real Emu Oil.

Holy cow I didn't realize it had all that junk in it. I looked over the ingredients millions of times! It must have been one of those oils.
I use 302 skincare and Mac Oil and they don't give me problems. So who knows what ingredient it was!

I'm sorry to hear about your experience! It's disheartening when your trying to do something good for your skin and it goes crazy!
Right now I'm just leaving my skin alone! |

Thank you for the suggestions! My mom also said to use Hydrocortizone cream. I told her that I didn't think it was a good idea since it thins the skin. I read that if you don't use it that often you shouldn't have a problem. So you say that the stuff over the counter isn't that powerful?
The oats are a great idea as well. I was reading that oats are great for soothing the skin!
Like I said in an above post I haven't put anything on my skin. I'm thinking of what my next move is going to be!

Have anyone of you heart that MSM is supposed to help with facial redness? I just read this! |
