Please get a sample first because some people do react to herbal formulas. |

Okay - so my skin is combo - dry and slightly sensitive. Would you recommend this? I'm still trying to decide if I need this...its $87! |
It is a hydrating complex that can replace moisturizer in the summer (at least for me). In the winter, I layer it with other products. |

I live in the tropics and tend to be oily right around my nose, the rest of my skin is on the dry side. My skin is a bit sensitive due to some Obagi abuse in the past, I'm trying to repair it. I use HRG only as my moisturiser as I do not need anything heavier.
HRG did not cause me any irritation, but I do not know what causes your skin to be sensitive.
As far as dry skin goes, HRG is not a rich moisturiser at all. You may find that you need something on top of the HRG during the day like Day Care Face Cream. Jurlique say that you aren't to wear heavy creams at night so your skin can detox and normalise itself. So if you want to follow that protocol you would use the HRG alone at night, and during the day you would wear HRG with another moisturiser on top.
HTH! |

Its cool gel makes my oily skin soft.Because of acne,I usually use one skincare item at night.Especially in summer, within 1hour after face washing,my face is getting full of oil.
But this product is suitable to my face. |

I think it's more like a serum, instead of moisturizer. |

How much do you have to spend to get the samples? I haven't tried any Jurlique products so I'm afraid to buy anything. Though these great reviews have me wanting to try everything. |

I have used samples and liked them, but the only Jurlique I buy regularly is the lavender hand cream, because I LOVE the smell. I find Jurlique very pricey though. |

I tried it many years ago. I didn't find it very impressive but, like you do, I love the smell! But I also hate the glass packaging - too heavy for me to carry around. |

Have just thrown away a bottle which has expired . For the steep price it is doing very little besides moisturizing. For all Jurlique products PLEASE DO KEEP A CLOSE WATCH ON THE EXPIRY DATE ! And they are not cheap at all! |

Gah, I just tried out my sample of this stuff recently, and I HATED it! Way too sticky and zero moisturizing for me. Definitely not something I'll be purchasing. Which is great to learn, since their stuff isn't cheap! I still like Jurlique's Blemish Cream OK and I adore their Rose Silk Dust, so I guess it's just hit-and-miss - but I was repulsed by this cream. Didn't like the smell either! |

Well, I was quite suprised of Jurlique's products especially its masks. At first, I didn't really follow this product as I was not very impressed after trying its star product - the Rose water freshner. Since the Rose water, I only ever used the silk dust before the following encounter.
One day, I was on travelling to another city and happened to pass by Jurlique's shop. Having in one of this shopping spree mood and being a mask junkie, I bought 3 kinds of its masks. I also bought its Ultra sensitive face wash and its OPC make-UP REMOVER.
Back in hotel, I tried 2 of the masks and the face wash and make up remover.
The Moor Purifying mask is a deep cleansing
mask. I found that it is difficult to apply as it is very mud like and thick in its texture. But after applying and followed by the Deep Penetrating mask made my skin soooo clean, very bright and hydrated even though I was staying in the Hotel with very drying air becos of air-cons.
The other mask- Intense REcovery mask also have the effect of totally brightening up skin. I have had tried many other masks before, even Valmont's Renewing mask or Dr. H REjuvenating mask don't seem to have this clean brightening effect.
It is a surprising "wow" for me with Jurlique masks.
I am thinking of getting the Herbal Recovery gel. Definitely on my wish list. |

If you like the masks, you should also try the Face Wash Cream. It is a physical exfoliator with the consistency of oat porridge and you use it by similar method to Dr. Hauschka's Cleansing Cream ("press and roll" - get the SA to explain to you). It makes your skin really soft and is also gentle without the abrasiveness of grain scrubs. Good to use before the masks, and would also help to prime your skin for the masks. I like to use this when I travel, to get rid of flaky skin from the drying air in planes, hotels, etc. |

I quite like this product but ran across this interesting tidbit when I was on Saffron Rouge looking at the new Jurlique packaging...
Jurlique recently upgraded its packaging including changing its ingredient format to meet INCI standards (International Nomenclature of Cosmetics Ingredients). During this transition Jurlique informed Saffron Rouge that no ingredients in the products were changed. Because of this information, the ingredients were not re-evaluated to ensure they met our standards. After the launch of the new packaging we realized there were two new ingredients not previously listed on Jurlique’s packaging, including PG-Hydroxyethylcellulose Cocodimonium Chloride and various PEGs (listed below*). Jurlique explained that the formulas have not changed, but the labelling has, and that these ingredients were not properly noted on the previous packaging. Jurlique agreed with Saffron Rouge that these ingredients should be eliminated from the formulas, and has already started the process of doing so. Approximately 9-15 months from September 2007, Jurlique will re-release its entire product line without these ingredients. We have decided to yellow list™ these two ingredients for a limited period of 18 months. This will give Jurlique ample time to change these ingredients, while simultaneously giving those of our clients who love these select Jurlique items the opportunity to continue to enjoy them, should they choose to do so. Had we black-listed™ these ingredients, it would be our policy to remove the 28 affected Jurlique products from our site.
We see this solution as the most prudent path to help manufacturers to develop the purest products for our clients (including phasing out ingredients that are not as natural as they could be), and to help educate clients about what ingredients are less-than-green (yellow list™ ingredients) and those that should be avoided completely (black list™ ingredients), making their purchasing decisions as educated as possible. Though these ingredients are weaknesses, they are weaknesses found in otherwise amazing product formulations.
Additionally for those clients who have purchased one (or more) of Jurlique’s products that contain either of the above two yellow-listed™ ingredients between April 1st, 2007 and October 5th, 2007, and do not wish to keep them, Saffron Rouge will allow you to return the item(s) to us for a full refund less any respective shipping charges. If you wish to return a product, please call us at 1-866-FACE-CARE for a return authorization.
* PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, PEG-18 Glyceryl Oleate/Cocoate, PEG-20 Stearate & Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate.
I would think that it is very unlikely the omissions are accidental considering 28 products are affected, this one included. While their presence wouldn't stop me from using a product, it is troubling. On the one hand, I think, good for them for finally coming clean and deciding to remove them, but on the other hand, it seems a bit deliberate and shady that they felt the need to hide them in the first place. I wonder how many other organic and/or natural lines have misrepresented their ingredient listings by deciding not to list specific, not-so-natural ingredients... |

I tried the jurlique line hoping for a more "natural" skin programme and to support "local" products - it is interesting to read that jurlique isn't as natural as it claims to be. The herbal recovery gel was much too sticky and did nothing for the amount of money you pay. I agree - the handcreams are lovely - try the rose one, it smells so good. |

EDS has just started adding the product image + description + link to the storefront on review threads. If you go to page 1 of this thread, it's at the top... Looks as if it's suitable for most anyone. HTH. |
