Hi Everyone - this is a great forum

I've got around 16 weeks to try to get myself on track as I've got a dramatic lifestyle change then and really need to try to look my best.

I'm a 40 something with skin that is probably the sensitive side of normal. Would Skinceuticals C + AHA be too drying? Is it a product that can go on the under eye area?

I don't have many wrinkles under the eyes but can look puffy under the eyes. Any suggestions?

I have also managed to acquire more freckles on an already freckley face - any suggestions?

Thanks

If you skin is sensitive I would not start out using the C(15%) + AHA since both can cause irritation. I would not use around the eye.

Start of with just one (C 10% or AHA) and see how your skin reacts.

If you really want a dramatic change, I would consider Obagi NuDerm. Several threads on this in the forums, but it is not for the faint of heart.

If you are worried about too dry, you can add a B5.

Technically an 18 week program but if you start now, you should still see noticable and great results by the time you need them.

For most people, vitamin C serums may provide slight improvement but for the most part, it's considered a preventative treatment. With the added AHA, you will get better exfoliation and cell turnover which will help with smoothness but changes will be minor and something you will notice but others likely will not.

I used to use SkinCeuticals Vit. C+AHA. I used it for quite a few years. It's a great product.

When SkinCeuticals came out with Vit. CE+Ferulic serum, I stopped using the Vit. C+AHA because the CE+Ferulic had more antioxidant benefits, which means I had to forego the AHA.

But then I saw SkinCeuticals had a separate AHA only product called Intense Line Defense serum (12% AHA) and started using this serum at night. I have also used this for years.

SkinCeuticals recently came out with a product called Retexturing Activator serum (20% glycolic). So, I switched over to this about 6 weeks ago and now use this at night instead of the AHA serum.

So there are a lot of options out there, as to whether you want to break up your actives and use them separately or have one product that may incorporate a few of them.
