foxe - thanks for your advice,
I've gone to order the single needles from owndoc and some vitamin C powder to do targetted skin needling on the scars.
CP = copper peptides right? where can I source these products that you mentioned above? |
Yes, they are Copper Peptides from Skin Biology. EDS sells them here too as do a couple of other resellers (NCN Skincare and Diana Yvonne). Owndoc even has a section about using CPs and they sell a mask w/ some GHK copper in it. GHK is the original CP (called 1st generation). SB came out with stronger ones later called 2nd gens.
I've used both Vit C and CPs and found the CPs to do a better job at rebuilding the skin from scars. In fact, I think the CPs just work better overall.
If you want to use Vit C, just use it on the opposite end of the day from CPs, say in the morning with the CPs at night. It use to be thought that the two couldn't work well together, so it might be best to stay on the safe side. |

Is this the product?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Skin-Biology-SUPER-Copper-Peptide-Serum-4-oz-/230495157093
There seems to be the normal serum, super serum and CPx2.
Do you know the concentration of each type, what is the optimal concentration? |

lilpil - the concentration goes up with the products. CP Serum, then Super CP Serum and then Super Cop 2X (SC2X).
If you want to use one all over the face, you might want to start with the CPSerum and work your way up to the stronger ones (they are strong!).
For spot treating, either the Super CP Serum or the SC2X will work. In fact, it would be OK to start w/ the Super CP and just dilute it in the beginning. Do this until your skin adjusts to the product.
I would use the CPs daily (diluted in the beginning) all over your face and do that for a couple of weeks until your skin adjusts. Gradually increase the ratio of CPs to water during this time. When your skin has acclimated to the CPs, then try a roll with them. If you use a 1.5 roller, only do that one every 4 to 6 wks. Using single needles, try those about every 4 wks.
To get use to the CPs, try diluting them with equal amounts of water. Try 4 drops CPs to 4 drops water. Every week, increase the CPs and decrease the water until you're at full strength (8 drops) of CP. 8 drops is the amount I use of Super CP serum. I have oily skin and the serums work best for that. Drier skin can use the creams better (P&R Lotion, Super Cop, SC2X).
PS - that is the product. It's the same price as listed on the Skin Biology website. I'd get it from SB since you can get free samples for a $50 purchase. Get the SC2X or an exfoliant like the Exfol serum. |

foxe - thank you so much for your advice. I feel indebted.
When you mention that I do my rolling with CP diluted. Do you mean actually putting on the serum just before the roll or do I wait abit?
I have just purchased the single needles from owndoc and it should arrive soon.
I wish I can buy from skin biology site but am not sure that they will deliver to Australia.
I have Retin-A 50mg prescribed from doctor as well. Can I incorporate usage of that somehow as well? If so, how should I go about doing this? |

I would apply the CPs after a roll and after you have cleansed your skin from rolling. (I take extra precautions w/ a roller) Doing it with a single needle might not require the same precautions as using a roller, so you *could* push the CPs in with the needle and leave it at that.

I've used Retin A in my routine. I also take breaks from it, so it hasn't been too consistent the last few years. But, yes - you can use it. I saw really good results when I would use the Retin A at night after cleansing, then wait about 45 minutes and then applied my CPs. You could also use the Retin A at night and the CPs in the morning or alternate thier use in the evenings. Take your pick! It's usually best to let the Retin A rest a bit after putting it on since it has a lower pH than the CPs. |
