Keliu, how do you use it on bare face? Does it glide easily or kinda of sticky

I use the mushroom head which glides very easily (as long as the skin is perfectly dry). I've also been experimenting with using the comb attachment with more pressure for a lifting effect.

Somehow the mushroom head doesn't glide easily on my dry skin at all. I have to lift it lightly to the next area.

Where do you use it? I read somewhere in the thread that the comb attachment is for the hair scalp usage only.

I am curious on this too? Smile I am so tempted but have other things I have to spend on now, SHOOT!

Algona do you have naturally dry skin? Unless I am mistaken Kelilu has naturally oily skin so I am wondering if that could be the reason it's more difficult for you to glide it on dry skin? Just throwing a thought out there! Very Happy

I have a normal skin type. I have tried to use it on a dry bare face, didn't work well; so I use some serum to glide it easier. After using the serum with HF, my face looked "oily".

I wouldn't say I have really oily skin - but I live in the tropics so maybe the humidity helps with slippage!!!

Yes, the comb attachment is meant for the scalp. But I've been using it on the back of my neck for my neck pain (which has really improved BTW). So then I thought I'd try moving it over the front of the neck and up onto the face in a lifting motion.

I can relate to the humidity living in the sauna land of south Florida I know just what you mean. Rolling Eyes

I will be watching to see how the lifting works, that's very inventive of you. I do plan on purchasing one when finances allow either way, but that would be a great bonus so do keep us posted please. Very Happy

Keliu, how do you use the comb attachment for your neck pain - just comb like you comb your hair? I assume the mushroom would help easier! My husband has a neck fusion and pinch nerves and pain down to the shoulders. I've been thinking about buying the EMS device for him, but I may try HF on his neck. Thanks

I have exactly the same problem - the pain goes down to my shoulder too.

I swear the HF helps. For some reason, the comb attachment seems to spread the treatment over a wider area and feels better. I just slide the comb up and down over the side of my neck where the pain is and up into my hair where all the nerve endings are. My neck gets so bad that I can't turn my head to the left at all - but when I use the HF it improves rapidly.

I would definitely try the HF treatment before buying an EMS device. I have an LED device too, but I find the HF treatment is more effective.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Keliu Very Happy
My husband read your response and he said "it's exactly the same symptom he has". I am so happy that he agrees to try the HF. He didn't want to use any device from me before, because he said that "stuff is for facial and wouldn't help his pain". Confused
Can I PM you?

Of course you can PM me. But I suggest you do some research into Ozone Therapy, or Violet Ray Therapy - this is HF under another name. You will find lots of info on what HF treatments can cure - and arthritic pain is one of them.

Here is the response that I received from beautifulonraw.com regarding the question: Can you lose facial fat when using the high frequency device?

Thank you for your patience while I tracked down some answers to your question.

The Violet Ray won't cause you to lose fat where it is not needed, so you need not worry about that. The Violet Ray produces ozone, and oxygen O1 is released which will attack inflammation and toxicity but will never hurt healthy tissues. If fat has accumulated in places on the face, then the detoxifying effects of the Violet Ray will help to move it out of the cells where it can be properly dealt with. Proper diet is important, so, depending on whether you are eating a raw food diet or not, be sure not to overlook it! Sometimes people mistake swollen tissues for fat, as well. All in all, if there is fat that needs to be flushed from the tissues, the Violet Ray can assist in this, but one cannot rely completely on it to obtain that effect. If there is no fat to be spared, then it is not going to be metabolized, giving the face a gaunt look, because healthy tissues maintain a state of homeostasis. And the Violet Ray is all about promoting healthy tissues!
Cellulite is composed partly of trapped waste which can be helped by the cleansing and stimulating effects of the Violet Ray, but for more dramatic results with cellulite you might want to consider combining it with the belt of pins.

I hope this helps if someone is wondering.

Take care.

Hi everyone, Can someone please explain what method would be helpful when treating the face? I was going to treat my eye area. Should I hold the electrode against the area for a few seconds at a time? Should I use the method that produces a spark? I've read that to use this method a piece of gauze can be placed over the area to create a small spark gap. This way you are sure not to create too big of a spark gap which can cause tissue damage. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I got my Palacia High Frequency device today. I really felt intimidated by it, but I got over it quickly. I purchased it to see if it will help with my under eye puffiness. I used it for a few minutes and it actually seemed to tighten up the skin on my face. I have a pouch on the side of my mouth which actually appeared smaller after the treatment. I am wondering if my eyes are deceiving me. The puffiness under my eyes looked slightly better. I found a study which shows the device works better for eye puffiness than shrinking pores or reducing wrinkles. It's a small study but, I hope it is correct about the eye puffiness. http://www.rejuvenationroom.ca/pdfs/clinical_study_poresize_puffyeyes.pdf
Take care.

Thanks for the link to this study - very interesting. But do you know what the "4 step system" is?

Also, did you note that they were applying the device to bare skin for 2 mins, then after moisturiser for 2 mins. I think my original DermaWand instructions also said to do this.

Just wanted to mention that I wouldn't use the sparking technique around the eyes - this is more for treating breakouts. Just glide the mushroom head gently under the eyes on a lower setting. I also like to use the narrow head under my eyebrow on the orbital bone. I lift up the skin under the eyebrow and hold for a few seconds.

The eyebag results are certainly very encouraging - as are all the results really.

I'd like to know what the 4-step method is also.

That link shows a study that seems identical to one Dermawand had done for it's product.
Here are a couple of links for their study:

Products Used:

The report refers to various skin care products. They are as follows:

Expensive Moisturizer – Clinique – Purchased from local department store.
Inexpensive Moisturizer – Plentitued – Purchased from local pharmacy.
4 Step – Tyra Plus 4sytem supplied by Tyra International Inc., Chatsworth, CA.

I found the website and it gives info on the products but they are no longer available. The 4 step consists of a cleanser, a normalizer, and 2 moisturizers.

Hi everyone - I have a dermawand but just placed an order for the Palacia product. Last week my esthetician used a HF device in my facial and I liked the results. My question is, I treat myself once weekly w/the Quasar SP - any thoughts on how to space these two treatments?

I use my HF device every night, directly after a shower on bare skin. Then I use my Lightstim LED. I've been doing this for ages without any issues. But, of course, I'm hardly an expert on all this - but I don't see why the two devices would cause any conflict with each other.

You may have already seen the video but I just found it today:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5z2Ve1Q_Hg&feature=related

This one is particularly scary (not about skincare) but does show how relatively harmless it must be.

Also regarding the first video - she uses a moisturizer before the treatment and warns against using any product with alcohol in it. I hope that doesn't include the alcohol intake of my wine pretreatment. False courage, I know, but courage nonetheless. Laughing I love this gadget - odor, sparks, and all.
