Hi guys,
so i used the carbon dye for the first time today, boy is it messy and disgusting.
Anyway, my question is that when i used it on my face, the Viss IPL the little silver plate (skin sensor thing) would shock me - sort of the sensation you get when you lick a battery (if you ever licked a battery when you were a kid ). It wasn't just a short shock, it was a constant prickly charge which was quite uncomfortable and hurt my sensitive skin. Even a few hours after finishing, I tried the Viss again and it happened again it again.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this just Carbon Dye related or is it a Viss IPL flaw? |

That's definately not right. Sounds like the cartridge maybe isn't grounding itself properly? |

Hi,
What do you mean by 'not grounding itself properly'? Do you mean there could be a fault with the machine or a fault with the cartridge or that the cartridge not clicked in properly??
What should I do in this regard??
Thanks,

Are you sure that the device is actually shocking you? The machine does give out a significant "zap", especially when used on a higher level. So you should be feeling a strong zap and a slight stinging sensation. |

I know what the laser zap feels like - the shock i am talking about happens even when i am NOT even pressing the button - it happens when I am lining the viss up in its next spot.
The feeling can only be described as like licking a battery or when you get an electric shock by somebody. It is a horrible prickly chargey sensation and it only comes from the metal sensor bar. It really isn't a nice feeling and hurts my sensitive skin.
Any ideas?

In that case, I would be concerned about the device being faulty. No electrical device should give you a shock. I would get it checked by a professional and if there is something wrong contact VISS. |

I tried the hair removal lamp on my face today. I was really reluctant about shaving my face and am really hoping that I don't break out too badly. I have also been trying the rejuvenation lamp for 3 days on my face (for acne scars) and my boyfriend's back and chest (some very mild acne). So far, I've only noticed that the blackheads on my nose have started going away, but I didn't have many there to begin with....
I'll keep you updated! |

Hello everyone. I found this website and I literally spent all night reading all of your posts regarding the Viss IPL system. I'm still kind of on the fence about spending so much money on it... reading your posts have encouraged me to invest in it, but I don't know yet.
I'm a student and times are hard, especially in California, so I'm trying to stretch my dollar as much as I can.
Someone on here suggested the Clean + Easy Electrolysis system, so I went on Amazon and found it at a great price, only 35 bucks! It didn't have the best reviews, and most of them talked about being patient. I've been struggling with facial hair since I can remember. I'm 21 and currently on summer break, so I want to get started with something ASAP. |

Hi Everyone. Thank you for all of your posts.
I am interested in purchasing the VISS IPL unit for my self and my daughter. However my daughter is dark skin (half Nigerian) and I was wondering if anyone with dark skin has experienced any skin lightening? Have you used it on your face? (I would not want her to use it if it left lighter patches). Thank you in advance for your replies. |

I don't think the effect is actually lightening of the skin. I think it can burn[i] the skin if it is too dark. The melanin in your skin absorbs the light (darks always absorb more and lights reflect), so if too much is absorbed, your skin could burn. I would be very hesitant. The website has a skin color chart, you should check it out. I'm Mexican and I use it on my face, but I'm not very dark. That's what I've gathered, anyway. |

Hey Guys and girls...
I think the VISS IPL device is one of the best home devices on the market, and i cann tell you because i have searched a lot.
But now I found a problems that it comes when you have some time using VISS IPL, the lamp. In comparison with the new home devices like RIO IPL 8000 (20,000 flashes), the 4,000 flashes of VISS IPL seems to be to short lifetime, and I can tell you because I have spent about 3 lamp catridges and still I dont achieve over 80% hair removal. I have about 9 months using it. First the hair fall out and you are free of hair for a long time, after 4 months the hair starts to grow again, but lighter. Then you have to zap it again, and then you notice that you need to buy a new flashlamp (when the xenonflashtube is getting dark and show some cracking in the glass, the lost of power is very noticeable and does not do the job, but it flashes anyway).
So, here is the thing, I have been researching about the Lamp manufactures to avoid buying new lamps all the time, besides, the are many xenon flashtube supplier that have lamp lifetime over 100,000 flashes!!. So the big challenge is to find the Xenon flashtube that can fit into the catrigde. However is has been quite hard to get this dimensions because is too short in comparison with what is sold. VISS LAMPs are 44mm and you can find on the market at minimum 90mm.
The other specs of the lamp like voltage, frequency, cooling system are very easy to find.
I have a list of the main supplier worldwide, so if someone else is interested on this issue, you can contact me by PM. I would like to have someone that could have a litle knowlegde on xenonflash lamps.
Best regards |

I am trying to remove hyperpigmentation patches. A question to other Viss Rejuvenation cartridge users, how many zaps do you do on each area you are trying to lighten?
Also, how many zaps do most people do on each area for hair removal?
I would love an update on people hair removal and skin rejuvenation progress.
So far I'm not noticing much of a change but i have only done a few treatments.
However, I did an experiment where i waxed one underarm and shaved the other and then used carbon dye on both under arms. I zapped them both.... 2 weeks later the side that was shaved had double the amount of hair regrowth as well as the hair being double the length.
Anyone else done any experiments??

I'm very happy with the hair removal results - my underarm hair has disappeared totally. Bikini line hair growth has slowed considerably.
Can't see any results from the skin rejuvenation head. I don't have much pigmentation to deal with but I do have broken caps and I can't see any improvement in them.
I only give one zap per area, slightly overlapping as I go. |

Ditto the previous post. After 4 months, very happy with hair removal lamp----no results from photo rejuvenation lamp. I must say I was underwhelmed with "professional" IPL treatments a few years ago for freckles, etc. Since I purchased the extra lamp, I will continue to use it----maybe persistence will pay off. I read somewhere that IPL for anti aging, etc. either works for you or it doesn't. Maybe if you had good results from IPL in the past the VISS photo rejuvenation lamp would work for you also. Very happy with hair removal results though---haven't tried the carbon dye thing yet. |

Hi everyone,
This thread has more been based towards the hair removal affects of the VISS. I have very light rosacea, recently an Elos provider told me that the only way to get rid of it was through IPL treatments, my initial thought was 'what a crock' but her theory behind it did make sense. I am therefore interested in hearing reviews of the Photorejuvenation light from people that are using this machine, anyone? |

IPL is definitely the most effective way of dealing with rosacea. However, I'm not convinced that the VISS is powerful enough for this purpose. I've had numerous IPLs in the past to treat broken caps - and it works very well. But as I have repeatedly stated on this thread, I can't see any improvement to my skin from using the rejuvenation head. |

Thankyou Keliu thats exactly the answer I wanted to find out. Tell me have you come across any at home IPL systems that have helped with rosacea? or for that matter other devices that have helped with rosacea in general? |

I don't believe that the home-use IPL machines are strong enough to treat rosacea. There are LED lights especially for rosacea - I think Lightstim manufactures one - but I have no experience with them.
If I were you I'd look into having a professional IPL treatment done - but go to a doctor's clinic and have a proper consultation regarding your condition and the lightly outcome. |

Hello all,
I'm new to the forum. First of all, thanks to all the contributors (positive and negative as well) to this very helpful tread. I read it from the very first message till the end. Took me a few days, though, but it was worth it, very informative and helpful. Hey, I was trying to do a proper research here, hehe
So, thank you!
Secondly, just put my order yesterday, so far no tracking number or mail confirming it was sent. Did get the confirmation I paid, duh. The costumer service was really friendly and helpful, but as few of you pointed out in the beginning, when they need your money they friendly. But when you need something.. Again, hopefully that won't be the case. Will update on that matter.
Finally, I was thinking. There are some products now on the market claiming to have a longer bulb life. Rio IPL 8000 and the pro one claim to have 30-40K of flashes, which is impressive, assuming it is true. There is also other models like Epsil. I don't know if any of them work and give good results, I did find good reviews about the RIO IPL PRO, but since there is shipping issues to Australia, i skipped on buying it.
Point is, that even if VISS is working (and I believe it is) its carriage prices are to expensive (75$ for hair and 125$ for skin) and worth only 4000 flashes, whereas RIO costs the same but gives 10 times more flashes!
How about we get together and raise a request to VISS people, Research and Development team in particular, to develop a more lasting bulbs? Until it'd happen, we could ask to lower the prices of the current bulbs, couldn't we?
It should be also within their interests to improve the bulbs, otherwise I suspect people will seek other, cheaper alternatives
We can also raise it on their Facebook page and see how it goes. I think the more people will join, the more power we will have to lower it down.
What do you think? |

Hi all,
I did a patch test last week. Today is the first day I used this machine. Today I treated both my legs and underarms.
It tool me 30 mins to do both. Will repeat in two weeks time.
There was no redness or did not feel any pain. whilst doing it or after. Not sure if this works as yet.. |

Hello EDS ladies
I have been a lurker here for a while and now I'm finally motivated to join and post because of my bad experience with VISS.
I got the unit two months ago after a quick exchange of e-mails with their CS contact Liliana. As soon as I got the product I e-mailed her again and again as I believe I was overcharged and never heard back. I tried calling and leaving voicemail - again no response. Today I spent 40 minutes waiting on the phone and never got to talk to anyone. I'm fed up and want to return the unit but don't even know how since I wasn't able to reach them. I was wondering if any of you used anything else comparable to VISS and what your results were. I had Silk'n before and their CS was great, but I thought I'd be better off with VISS and now I have to look for something else again |

Hi,
Just got my Viss IPL last week. I decided to give this machine a go after buying just about every product out there for hair removal.Im also using vaniqa cream as well. Ive used the machine twice now on face, armpits and bikini line. I havent notice any difference on bikini and face but too early to tell. What i am definately amazed at is i used to shave underarms every day in the shower, after 2 treaments im still waiting for any hair to shave! that in its self is an absolute miracle! very happy with this machine. If its works like that on my underarms, ive confidence the rest of my body will see results soon. Ive decided to use viss every week instead of the recommend every 2 weeks, as my hair seems to grow unusually fast. |
