Hello everybody, although this will be my very first post, I've been lurking here for about a week.
I've been using Lancome Bienfait Total UV SPF 15 since I was 15 yrs old and thanks to this board, I've decided I need a change.
My face looks very oily when I use my Lancome under my new found love Jane Iredale's loose powder. Is it possible for a moisturizer to make your skin oily?
What moisturizer with spf would you all recommend to replace my old one? Also, is slapping moisturizer with spf on enough to protect one's skin?

I have read that the JI loose powder is a tad more shiny than their pressed. Has this problem started before the powder or afterwards? |

Hi lianne, it's always been the case with lancome, my face looks very shiny after putting on any of thier moisturizer. But I was such a chicken to try another brand, although I do not have super sensitive skin, I'll have bad rashes or gigantic pimple if my skin does not agree with the new brand, this happend to me when I tried Burt's Bees on my face. |

I've got combination skin and Dermalogica Sheer Tint SPF15 works well for me and does not leave my face shiny. You can get it in a tinted or untinted version.
Would you say you have oily skin? Perhaps the Lancome products you have been using have been too rich for you? If you do have oily skin then I would suggest going for a gel moisturiser instead. Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel is nice but has no SPF. In fact, I can't seem to think of any gel ones with SPF off the top of my head. If I think of some I'll post back... |

I'd say my skin is combination, it's only a little oily on the T-zone. I got some Skinceuticals samples that I'm trying, I like their Daily moisturizer but I don't like putting on a ton of stuff on my face like applying sunscreen after the moisturizer, maybe I'll just mix them together (I also got their Ultimate sunscreen). |

My all time favorite sunscreen:
Jan Marini Skin Research Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 30 Waterproof combines a revolutionary microscopic sponge encapsulation system, state of the art sun protection, a powerful antioxidant component and a superb hydrating complex. Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant incorporates a combination of conventional sun screening agents along with two newly developed non-chemical sun blocking substances that provide enhanced sun protection as well as exceptional skin recovery benefits. The result is a formulation that ensures continuous coverage for daily or extended exposure conditions with a broad spectrum SPF 30 rating that is also waterproof for times when perspiration or water sports may be a factor.
I wear Jan Marini is the summer months when I am going to be outdoors for an extended period of time. For normal daily activity I stick with SPF of 15.
