I am in my late forties and have been using obagi nu-derm system for about 8 weeks. I have slightly oily skin, with large pores. My pores look much better, but the wrinkles below my eyes which weren't that bad, starting looking a lot worse. My routine before obagi, was cleanse, tone with witch hazel, retin A, then I used a little Jurlique oil. I had very few wrinkles, but my pores didn't look great. My dermatologist/staff kept recommending Obagi and I switched. When I complained about the wrinkles under my eyes they recommended Elastiderm Eye Gel. I have been using it for about 2 weeks and wake up looking like a monster. The area below my eyes is drawn, and I look like a I've aged 20 years or more. I usually freak out and put jurlique oil, vaseline or something below my eyes which sometimes helps but seems to burn a little and will get red. I know with obagi it takes time. I am happy with my overall appearance except a few more noticeable wrinkles, especially around my eyes. Will this go away? Since it's around the sensitive eye area I don't want to do anything that will cause damage. Have other people used the gel and had bad results in the beginning that gets better? Or noticed more wrinkles in the beginning of Obagi that gets better also? Thanks. |

The eye wrinkles will definitely look worse before they look better. Though it sounds like the Elastiderm gel is not agreeing with your skin. The studies done on Elastiderm were with twice a day use and I think it took 6 weeks to see results, can't remember how many weeks now sorry. I never had luck with the Elastiderm and the gel is awful in my opinion. I would personally go back to just applying an oil under your eyes after all your Obagi products are on. |

Thanks for your response, the only problem when I try to use the jurlique oil it makes my skin turn red and blotchy now using the obaqi. The dematolgist office keep telling me to hang in there, till about 12-16 weeks. My eyes look pretty awful, though. I look a lot older. Will the wrinkling get better? I definately will stop the gel. |

The wrinkling will get better. I would use an eye cream after your Obagi products. Maybe you can ask the place where you got the gel to switch you to the Elastiderm eye cream? |
