I recently (a day before this all began) changed my skin care to ;
Pür Minerals Mineral Moisture Complex
Pür Minerals Fulvic Mineral Mist
Murad Essential-C Daily Renewal Complex
(and a FB free gift *** Free Gift - Pür Minerals Live Love Laugh Specialty Powder Collection )
I was using philosophy (the hope one)which I liked but wanted to try something else
Now I have swollen lips dry crusty face and a rash all over my neck and chest...well basically everywhere I spritzed or slathered the creams and mist.(and applied lovely free gift) But the dilemma is- which is the culprit?
Has anyone used any of these and had a reaction? Could it be that I suddenly shocked m,y skin by radically changing regimes?
A combination of that and add the heat (I live in tokyo)
I will go to a derm if it doesnt clear but need to identify the culprit as I may be able to return the product or at the least use it on my arms...is there any way to determine which it is for eg by applying some in just a patch on a certain part of the body (was it inner elbows that are sensitive) or will this not be of any use?

The obvious thing to do is stop using ALL products. When you are back to normal, introduce one product at a time by doing a patch test on your innter arm and rule out each product one by one. |

Agree. Your reaction could be from any of the ingredients in any of the products. No way to know which one it is until you stop all, wait for your skin to heal, and then reintroduce 1 at a time. That mineral mist looks to be loaded with citrus oils, and that definitely may cause a problem in some people. The moisture complex has Ubiquinone in it, which also gives some people problems, and the murad C also has the citrus oils in it. Take some Benadryl and if you aren't improved go to a doctor. |

thank you both ...yes I have stopped and bought some different stuff for sensitive skin and will use samples I have (that I know wont aggravate the problem) till I can use one or them both again...maybe it was the mist?
So inner arm..all the way along? couldnt I do that now...do I have wait for my face to go down? My neck is still itching like mad...I think that whatever it was has given me heat rash (lowered my skins defenses and made it really reactive to the sun and heat)...
its all soooo annoying....and itchy and puffy and horrid! |

Did you use sunscreen after you applied the products? The sun definitely could have reacted with the citrus oils. I don't see why you can't test on your inner arm, but body and face skin don't always react the same way (just something to keep in mind!). |

when i get a bad skin reaction like that, I use witchhazel all over amd then take a benedryl and put benedryl cream on. it helps calm the itching and swelling down. you may need to go see your doc to get a prescription strength allergy remedy. |

I would get an OTC anti-histamine medication - this will help with the allergy.
I wouldn't try reintroducing any of the products until your allergy has completely gone. Allergic reactions usually increase with each contact with the allergen. |

When i had a skin allergy last year to some organic deodorant...it burnt my underarms right after applying.
had to run and rinse that off and my skin was super painful and burning.
benadryl cream did not help and made my skin feel burnt too.
cool compresses were nice.
the deodorant i tried was a new store brand life organics deo stick/?
I even tried it again a few days later...and same bad reaction again
the store was nice and let me return the deodorant
for allergic skin (also had a bad reaction to benefit eyecon cream and left me skin w a burn) I could only use a balm made with beeswax and no liquids or water or else mineral oil or petrolium gelly..everything else hurt my skin... |

holy crap YES! AND I kind of felt it WAS the sunscreen but then thought it couldnt have been as I have used that for about 2 weeks or more and never had a problem (its juice beauty) ...it was all the new stuff I started using . Then after my face already started coming apart the murad cream stung and I thought maybe that? But logically it would sting if my face had been burnt by something.............. yes have stopped all and researched each product on the net but not one has come up as causing this in anyone before ............my face is already better (still a bit tight and dry but not swollen) my neck is still itchy and when it flares up and I scratch then all the bumps are pronounced.....
I didnt read the ingredients in the mist ..if I had I would have never bought something with that many citrus oils....yikes...thats so bad to be in the sun with that too!
I want to use all my lovely new creams again...
but will be patient and get to the bottom of this cosmetic mystery! |

Good luck, annachan. I hope your skin heals quickly and you are able to figure out which product(s) is causing your problem! |
