I am trying to even my skintone on my face and also find a good exfoliant to get rid of dead skin cells. What do you recommend? |

If your skin can tolerate Retin-A it's certainly a good product to use. Many seem to find a two-pronged approach, where they use Retin-A and chemical exfoliants, is most effective at evening skin tone.
I'm more in favour of low-level chemical exfoliants used regularly, as opposed to harsher chemical peels done less often. I find using them less irritating and regular use seems to give an overall better brightening effect for me.
My favourites are Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid and 8% AHA gel. |

Hi Josh,
How often do you use the 2% BHA liquid and 8% AHA gel? |

I cannot use retin-A so I go with bi-monthly chemical peels. It peels and in a few days, fresher looking skin. I am a do-it-youselfer from platinum skincare with a mid-range glycolic. |

Hi summer...
I use the 2% BHA liquid twice daily and the 8% AHA gel 2-3 times a week at night. |

HI Josh,
Forgot to ask you if you used BHA or AHA in the same evening of Retin-A.
People say that AHA & BHA negate Retin-A. |

I have. I've never heard anyone say BHA affects retinoid performance. I have heard some say AHAs do but I've also heard many experts say that they actually help increase penetration of the active ingredient. IMO so long as you wait at least 20 minutes it should be fine (subject to whether your skin can handle it of course). |

I do not have the luxury of down-time for a chemical peel so instead use retin a at night and a C-Serum daily. My skin tone looks really good and I am seeing an improvement in fine lines. I also uses NCN Pro Pumpkin Peel but that has no down time. I cannot wait until a year is up and I can tell the long term benefits. |
