I went to Daiso (Japanese dollar store) today, and saw these black cosmetic sponges that said "black nano silver clean puff," and " Anti-bacteria, anti-biotic, sterilized puff by combining smallest nano silver particles."
Sounded interesting, so bought one. I figured I'd find all kinds of references to this online but found nothing. Apparently silver nano particles really do have the above properties, but I'm wondering how that would translate to a cosmetic sponge? Does this mean it will always be anti-microbial? After many washes and uses?
Has anyone tried this?
I did find this article on the use of nano-particles, which makes me very hesistant to use this thing: http://www.sciencenews.org/view/generic/id/38913/title/Nanosilver_disinfects_%E2%80%94_but_at_what_price%3F
It's made in Korea, which that article states is a hotbed of nano-particle products.
Input welcome! |
