Ok, I had decent skin until maybe 1.5 years ago when a dark patch appeared (maybe overtime?) on my face. It is noticeable since some people asked me if i got into a fight or something Sad. I went to see a dermatologist and he gave me hydroquinone and i used it at least once a day for about 6 months or so then he said thats pretty much the best it will do.
I then went to see a plastic surgeon and he said I could use laser surgery which could remove but he said some people might have worse skin discoloration coming out of it - seeing this is my face I didn't want to risk it.
He did recommend Tri-luma but said I have to pretty much use it for the rest of my life - went to pharmacy to get it then found out it was like ~250$! and also since tri-luma seems to be a stronger (mix) of other bleaching products and I read bleaching is kinda bad for skin in long term i refrained from buying. One of my friend's who is a doctor said it might be blood vessels or something but i searched on google and didn't find that being the cause?

So basically i am back at square one... I could look for another dermatologist who might prescribe be similar product or maybe some folks who battled through this can help on this forum? I searched briefly and found Obagi seemed to be used here and i also found some peeling products AHA(?) people use..

Any suggestions on what I should try next? the AHA or maybe TCA peel or something else? I am asian so maybe that will affect some treatments?

thanks!

I would like to add that I am currently using Meladerm - not sure i see a huge difference though.

Another question - it seems sometimes my dark spot lightens and sometime it seems to be darker after i get up? i do sometime sleep with that side of face against the pillow - could that be the cause of it or just lighting on some situations?

my daily regimen isn't that extensive (maybe it should be?).

Morning:
neutrogena face wash
Meloderm

Night:
neutrogena face wash
alcohol pad
meladerm

I work mostly in building so only time i would be facing the sunlight is probably driving to and from work (10mins) on the week days so I havent been using sun screen much although I do have Neutrogena ultra sheer 55. should I introduce vit c or emu oil to my regimen? the only deficiency on my face is that dark patch....

I started using obagi Clear, Renova, Glycolic acid/lactic weekly peels Plus, SUNSCREEN and biweekly dermaroller 1mm. I take 8000mg vitamin C, and omega-3 (fish Oil)

I'm also a big fan of skinactives products for dryness and keeping my skin hydrated.

chas, Lmc. Els, anti-aging cream, AA toner, and sea bioferment.

can you elaborate a little maybe as a regimen step? thanks!

Also, which Obagi products will improve my hyperpigmentation? There are so many of them and I am not sure which ones to use although i think the one with hydroquinone is probably not advised?
