I just purchased Dead Sea Black Mud Face Mask from a local health food store. It's sold on the web here:
http://www.dynamohouse.com.au/digiSHOP/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=231
It's a powder that you mix up - but the instructions aren't very detailed. They just say to mix it up with a little warm water and a few drops of oil to a suitable consistency and apply to the face for 8 minutes. It doesn't say to keep the mask moist.
I tried it for the first time tonight - it tingled a bit which I liked, because it made me feel that it was doing something! It's also very messy to wash off. But I liked the whole experience. It says to use it 2 to 3 times a week. |

Keliu, why do you think it tingles? I tried to check the ingredients list, but they didn't have one posted. |

Not Keliu, but my guess would be the mineral content in the mud. I have the Glamglow mud mask, and this also tingles when I first apply it due to the minerals in the mud. |

I am wondering if one mineral that is abundant in Dead Sea mud, salt might have a bit to do with that tingle? |

For the ingredients all it says is 100% Dead Sea Mud - the powder looks like cocoa.
The tingling is quite strong, almost a mild sting, but quite pleasant. I wouldn't have thought that salt would make the skin tingle like that. |

Yes, these dark masks are a PITA to get off regarding the mess department. My brain finally clicked in after 2 treatments. I now do mine in the AM before my shower. |

It's just that the Dead Sea is super salty so it seemed logical that the mud would naturally contain a high amount? I think salt can sting a bit on the skin? |

I have never found swimming in the sea to be irritating, nor salt water eye baths. I know that the Dead Sea has more salt but I'm inclined to think it's something else - maybe a combination of things. |

That's the conclusion I've come to as well. I'm still finding mud splashes on the walls and floor from my treatment the other day! |

I still think it is the high mineral content in the mud that causes the sting.
