Hello,
I am visiting the Netherlands, Barcelona and Paris over the next month and I would like some recommendations for sunscreens (or other good products) to pick up while I'm there, as well as advice on where to find them. Any tips? |

Europe is the best place to buy Darphin products which are almost in every other pharmacy in Paris. |

I went into every Sephora I could find in Spain and I was sooo disappointed -- they had almost exactly the same products as the US Sephoras, but the price was higher. It's getting harder and harder to find unique local items when you travel. |

I almost forgot, you can buy Dr Hauschka and Valmont products in specialized stores/spas in Paris. They are also cheaper than here. |

So what shops are likely to have these products? I'm currently in the Netherlands and I was confused for a long time because the drugstores don't have very many lines of sunscreens. It took me a while to decipher that for brands like LRP you have to go to an "apotheek" (pharmacy) instead of the drugstore.
Is it the same in Paris? I'm thinking in particular I'd like to stake out some Bioderma sunscreens, as well as Dr. Hauschka. What store names should I look out for? |

I'm think u can buy Bioderma in some pharmacies in Paris, not all! Dr Hauschka is sold in Dr Hauschka stores. One of them is on 39, rue de Charonne called "La Maison Dr.Hauschka"
I don't think department stores have Dr Hauschka, only in Germany |

Personally I use Bain de Soleil sunscreen. I do not know where it is sold in your country, but in Europe it is not too popular. |

Europe is a very difficult place to buy physical sunscreens, chemical ones are more commonly available, brands like la roche posay and vichy are very popular there as they are all made by in Europe. My recommendation is to stock up before you travel. The best sunscreens are more readily available in countries where Skin cancer has a has a higher profile and awareness. Unfortunately in Europe they still favor the "tan" |

Im not sure if you use a dermaroller or have an interest in doing so... but for me buying Emla cream in a pharmacy in france for like $3 a tube was the best purchase ever and worked GREAT!!!
May have been illegal to bring over though.. but its sooo small. |

If you go to France, you could pick up some embryolisse cream- apparently it's in all the pharmacies but hard to get outside of France. |

Its a hydrating face cream- it's used alot by makeup artists and models.
Elle Uk named it as a 'Cult Product from Abroad':
Embryolisse’s Lait Crème Concentre, £14.68 is a three-in-one product which cleanses, moisturises and can be used as a mask. It is an elusive French pharmacy ‘miracle’ cream with a cult following. Make-up artists swear by it for replenishing models’ skin before applying make-up as it makes a great primer, and models love it for banishing break-outs on over worked skin. |
