Anyone ever heard of a green wax from Spain, or Middle East?

My aesthetician uses a green wax from Spain or the Middle East, and it's wonderful. It barely hurts at all. It doesn't require muslin strips, it just hardens and she pulls it off. Anyone know where I can get it for myself? I still go in to have my brows/lip done by her, but I think I could handle the legs by myself if I had this wax.

I haven't heard of this but there are some waxes that do not require muslin cloths. They are supposed to be less painful than the strip ones. The place where I get my brows waxed uses one of these but I don't think it's green. I do a lot of my own waxing but have NEVER been able to master waxing with the waxes that don't require strips. It's always ended up being a messy and painful experience.

I decided to give this type of wax one last try a few weeks ago before I threw the few boxes of it that I had out (after repeated attempts). At the time I thought I'd spare the forum the description of what happened as I tried to wax my underarms with this NON WATER SOLUBLE wax. Let's say that scissors where involved in the end Embarassed

Sorry!! I think there should be this sisterhood of home waxers who basically help each other out. The green wax I'm talking about is different from any other I've ever had used on me. My esthetician uses a spatula to spread it on, in little circles, and she just peels it off, she doesn't really even yank. And then, I make her show me and you can see all these little hairs in the wax, with the root and all! That's my new weird thing. I always want to see the wax after she peels it off. I feel so productive.

I don’t know if it comes from Spain or the Middle East, but I use (and swear by!) the Poetic Waxing Kit for my brows and my “mustache.” I got mine from QVC, but I think you can also order it from Sephora. The wax comes in this tin mug, that you heat on the stove until it’s all melted. You let it sit a few minutes to cool down (do a test on your inner wrist before applying to your face!). Then you prep the area to be waxed by cleaning with an astringent or toner and then wipe on this special lotion (both are included in the kit), which keeps the wax from adhering to your skin. Then, using one of the wooden “popsicle” sticks, you apply a thin layer of the wax to the desired area, wait till it hardens, then just pull it off, along with the unwanted hair. Afterwards, you just put the used wax back in the tin cup to be reused (if there’s too much hair in the wax, you can “strain” it through an old pair of pantyhose or something). I know that sounds nasty, but so long as you’re not sharing your waxing kit with anyone else, it’s just your hair – right? (Like one of the benefits of living alone is that you at least know that all the little hairs in the bottom of the bathtub belong to you!!) I’ve had my waxing kit for nearly two years now, and I have yet to need to strain my wax. I don’t know if I’d recommend this kit for leg waxing, but if you need to wax smaller areas, it’s ideal!

Carrie

i heard about a brazillian wax to use to wax the private areas. but didn't hear about a spanish one. In egypt we have an egyptian one that is like glue or gum that is used with only hands.

never tried any of them though Smile
