My mother in the United states just had pink eye and her mother in Brasil told us to not buy the expensive medication the doctors prescribe for it when all you have to do is buy MEDICINAL Boric Acid.
Now I put Medicinal in caps bc it seems that the medical lobby here in the US has made sure we cannot buy Medicinal BA anywhere. Only the stuff to kill bugs (which is not ok for human use). If we were in Brasil we would walk down the street and buy some.
Anyone know, where on line or in US (I am in Houston, Tx) I can buy this stuff? So many good uses - for pets, yeast infections, etc.
TIA!!!!!!! |

What exactly is the difference? I know in my mothers day they would buy borax and mix it with sugar and place it in small saucers to be rid of any bugs. My impression has always been it's a poison? |

Just my opinion I wouldn't risk it even though it's medical grade. I know this pertains to yeast infection but if it can cause problems there I would be quite concerned about it in my eyes!
http://www.skincarearticle.com/health/effectiveness-of-boric-acid-in-curing-vaginal-yeast-infection/
Boric acid is indeed effective when it comes to treating vaginal yeast infection and is used in the form of vaginal suppositories. A boric acid capsule in inserted into the vagina to make it acidic and so, rendering the environment unsuitable for yeast to survive in; given that they prosper in alkaline based surroundings.
At the same time Boric Acid is a chemical and even if we used medical grade Boric Acid, there are chances of numerous unwanted effects taking place. Add to this, the fact that Boric Acid is poisonous and we are talking about a massive set of possible complications.
What’s more, the substance has countless complications. Given it’s highly toxic properties, it’s complications can include excessive itching and irritation. In numerous cases, boric acid may also be responsible for unstoppable inflammation. These reasons make it unsuited for women suffering from the infection. |
