Hey girls
I have oily skin, and I usually do not get pimples, maybe 1 or 2 here and there. Now I do have a lot of blackheads. But that is besides the point.
I have had the WORST breakout that I have ever had in my life....I woke up one day with a horribly broken out face (mostly my forehead). I have about no less than 40-50 pimples. Most are tiny bumps that you can't see, but I can feel them with my fingers. I think those bumps are blackheads in the making (yuck).
I have been eating a lot healthier actually (salads, water, no soda/junk) so I couldn't figure out what it was. Until I thought hard about it....
I went tanning the a few weeks ago and got pretty burned, then that night I went out, so I did my FULL face of makeup, and got drunk/slept over at a friends house, where I did not wash my face until the afternoon of the next day.
So my skin was peeling from the burn and the makeup pretty much sunk into my pores.
Now what do I do? I only use 3 things for cleaning my face:
- Oil cleansing method (olive oil, castor oil)
- Queen Helenes Mint julep masque
- aspirin mask. (crushed aspirin/honey/water)
I don't want to over do it, causing an even worse breakout....or even more oily skin.
I haven't been using any makeup at all because I am trying to clear up this terrible break out.
I plan on getting the clarisonic mia in a few weeks, but in the mean time, how do I handle this? I want to restore my skin back to how it was before I did this BIG blunder
Any advice??? |

Yeah...the combo of sun burn + makeup + and NOT washing it off until the next day = disaster. Not to mention the drinking.
All those products you use, besides oil cleansing method, I cannot use. Queen Helene's mask is average for me, I prefer the Aztec Healing Clay found at vitamin shoppe, etc. Aspirin mask irritated the heck out of my skin and woke up with 4 huge cysts.
Since you are already you might want to continue. Since they are tiny bumps, I would think definately try not to overdo it and just use makeup to a miniumum.
Try drinking lots of water and get some good sleep. You might want to use really soothing things like Aloe Vera. Since I am a huge acne sufferer I have had great results with Avon clear skin acne pads, and acnerelief homeopathic drops, but it seems to me like yours is just a one time big breakout. |

Since they are just tiny bumps sun poisoning is possible, I know a woman that went sunning and only broke out like that on a small area of her chest! That's what the derm diagnosed. |

I think maybe you can try toner mask to clam your face.
I will suggest the spray of Avene, just spray on the cotton pad or dry mask sheet and put it on your face for about 10 mins(sometimes I will keep spray on the mask sheet until I feel my face calmed).
Don't use moisture mask for the time being since there maybe too many rich ingredient. |

Take a look at the hemp seed oil thread - it's worked wonders for so many of us with regards to blackheads/whiteheads and general skin condition. Just read the first post and maybe the last couple of pages. And it's really easy to incorporate into your regime.

Also be aware that you may also get extra spots from eating more healthily as your skin purges it's nasties.
BTW, are you English? Your sunbed/makeup/drunk/sleep-over in full makeup disaster sounds like a typical Friday night for many girls here |

You can never over do it by starting off with a gentle cleanser. And than a thin layer of Paulas Choice 2% BHA, over that blemish fighting solution at night. In the day time, cleansing, blemish fighting solution on your problem areas, spf lotion (Paulas Choice again).
Theres no point using any form of oil cleanser or otherwise if you have oily skin to begin with. I would also forget the Clairsonic. You would only be irritating your skin and you don't need that now. Good luck! |

Using oil on already acne prone skin is a recipe for disaster. |

LOL, Miranda
I have 2 of each thankfully the oldest girl (almost 30...Dear Lord) is very settled. The baby girl soon to be 22 is another story! I always laugh when people say boys are harder, they never have girls, let them raise a teenage/early 20's female!
I was a wild one way back myself.... |
