I was about to order SKB from Lotioncrafter (along with other things) when I noticed they had 1 ounce for $7 or 8 ounces for $28. Nothing in between??? |

Try emailing John at http://www.bulkactives.com, DragoN found great prices from him! |

DragoN bellowed when he wanted to charge the same as NCN....
You can also make your C with Aloe vera, just make sure it doesn't have a whole bunch of other additives and whatnot.
Also....SKB does appear to be helpful for hair loss, my GF has a significant problem with loss of hair. She has been using it for about a month now, today I checked her hair, she has about 1 cm of new growth coming in.
It's pretty easy to see what was completely new and what is not, as her hair is dyed black and the new growth was white...but quite a bit of it. |

Well, if aloe vera works just as well, I would prefer to use that. This would be the gel, right? I'm assuming the amount to use for the serum is still 1 tsp? How would it be mixed with the other ingredients?
And speaking of substitutions, what disadvantage is there in using witch hazel? In Kassy's recipe, she says vodka is purer, but I have a lot of Dickinsons's Original Witch Hazel. On the ingredients list it says "all natural witch hazel containing Natural Grain Alcolhol 14% and witch hazel extract." |

I've used aloe gel to substitute for the SKB. It works nicely. I use the same amount of aloe in place of the SKB (i.e. if the recipe calls for 1 tsp SKB, I use 1 tsp aloe gel).
I find the Ferulic dissolves faster in vodka than witch hazel. I think as long as it dissolves in the witch hazel you're good. If it clumps and doesn't dissolve, you may have to use vodka. Some brands of ferulic just seem to dissolve better. |
