Hi, I'm wondering if cake eyeliner can be used as mascara??
I've been thinking to try some cake mascara since a while but I have hard time to find one with natural ingredients.
To my surprise, I found an organic cake eyeliner with the following ingredients:
Zea Mays (corn silk), Caprylic Capric Triglyceride (coconut oil), Magnesium Stearate (palm oil), Tocopheryl Acetate (vitamin e), Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba oil), Anthemis Nobilis Extract (chamomile), Ascorbyl Palmitate (vitamin c), Daucus Carota (carrot oil), Palm Kernel Glycerides (palm kernel oil), Stearic Acid (palm derived). May Contain: Ci 77019 (mica); Ci 77163 (bismulth oxychloride); Ci 77007 (iron oxide); Ci 77491 (iron oxide); Ci 77492 (iron oxide); Ci 77499 (iron oxide); Ci 77891 (titanium dioxide).
Can I use this as a cake mascara?
Please share your experience or thoughts, thanks |

Cake mascaras have or had other ingredients pretty sure some waxes that made them cling on the lashes. I honestly don't think any liner will do the same job. Can I ask why you want to use a cake liner instead of a all natural brush on mascara? |

Hi DarkMoon,
Thanks for your reply. I think you're right about having some wax for its clinging property in cake mascara... tears...
I've tried both conventional and natural tube mascaras. Since I don't use make up very often (much less for eye make up), I've never finished an entire tube of mascara in my life!
I just got to know about cake mascara lately, never heard of it before at all... it gets good comments around for its longer shelf life, less smudging (not waterproof though), impressive aesthetic result. This vintage mascara comprises basically waxes and surfactant. I thought of DIY one but then I don't want to risk my eyes for hygiene reason. Then I turn to eyeliner as potential solution. It looks like certain cake eyeliner does contain mainly wax and surfactant (but they are neither natural nor organic).
Voila my long story about hunting a perfect mascara.
Does it exist on earth some sort of single-dose mascara?? LOL |

Cake mascara was around before the tube mascara came about, if you google cake mascara you will still find companies making it. I can't recommend a brand as it's been many years since I used a cake mascara! Sorry. |
