I am searching for exfoliants that are mild but effective. I have sensitive to oily, acne prone skin, I came across DDF Acne Exfoliating Cleanser, has anyone tried this before?

Is it okay for sensitive skin? Any suggestions on a good exfoliator for my skin type?

Thanks.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, I'd recommend Dermalogica Microfoliant Smile

Hi Mabsy,

Got THE message... Laughing Only problem now is, it's "out of stock" in EDS. I am going to try and see if I can get it from a local facial salon here in Singapore, if they dont have it as well, is there any other site that I can purchase it from?

One more thing, since you're an expert on Dermalogica products :P , I have come across a forum where someone's recommending Dermalogica's Gentle Exfoliant Cream (is that right?), just wondering how different this is from the Microfiliant?

I'm far from the Dermalogica expert on here - I just have a few solid favorites from this line and Microfoliant is DEFINITELY one of them Smile

I have not used the gentle exfoliant cream but I would guess that this is one of those exfoliating masks that you just put on and leave on for a while and then you wash it off. No scrubbing involved.

I got my Microfoliant from EDS and have not yet had to repurchase as it has lasted me for ages! Since you're going to find a salon that stocks it this might be a good opportunity to try to pick up a sample first and find out if you like it or not before buying the full size Wink

Hi Mabsy,

I tried using Microfiliant tonight (got a "sample" from my roommate), it felt smooth on my skin afterwards, but I also felt tightness to my face, is that normal? I used it after my Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser (which I really love).

Is it really safe to use daily??

I can use it daily and I have no problems with it - it doesn't leave my skin tight. I have read some people saying that it leaves their skin a bit dry.

Mind you, I don't think I could use the Dermal Clay Cleanser AND the Microfoliant together as the cleanser would dry me out. So, basically, everybody's skin is different...

Amazingly, Mabsy, the cleanser is perfect for me, I read from some posts that it leaves the skin feeling tight but for me it left my skin really soft. It was just right.

Sorry to tell you this, but I got breakouts the next day and tiny rash-like itchy spots on my face, after I used the microfiliant Crying or Very sad

I am not sure why it had an effect like that on me, everybody seemed to rave about the Microfiliant.

Now, I have to search for another exfoliator - could cream exfoliators be gentler??

wingless_butterfly - I had similar reaction as you have experienced - tightness and tiny rash-like spots. But, it went away after the 3rd or 4th trials. Now, I really love this daily microfiliant, it is absolutely wonderful and leaves my skin nothing but the smoothness and softness touch.

Hmmm...I tried the gentle cream exfoliant last night, and it was okay, no dramatic effects but my skin felt really really really smooth but not overly dry.

I think maybe I should give Microfiliant another chance, see if it will give me the same results as it gave you. Well, hopefully it will.

Could be possible I scrubbed too hard. Razz

wingless, are you still testing this product or given up?

I find all dermalogica products have given me a reaction like you described. Perhaps we're both allergic to something!?
