As a child i have never had freckles. I don't have fair skin but more of a olive skin tone that tans easily. As i'm in my mid 20's i've noticed that new freckles are popping up. I don't suntan but when i do go out to the beaches I've been putting on sunscreen to protect myself against photoaging. Are there any ways to get rid of freckles besides going to the extreme of laser? Can freckles be caused by other factors besides UV? |

OBAGI got rid of all my freckles, must use suncreen afterward. My friend tried laser, but it did not work as good as OBAGI. |

I am a freckel girl in the summertime. I don't need to stay in the sun a long time to get them all over my face. As a child I had them only around my nose - qiute qute, when I was ten..
I was a heavy sunbather in my middle 20:ies, and unfortunately I didn't know better. All my freckles tend to even out during the summers then, and I look tan and glowing, I thought it was no big deal. Wintertime they faded away anyway.
Nowadays, they have a tendency to clump together in larger spots, and looks more like dirt-spots than freckles - IF I would tan my face without any sunscreen on.
I was warned about this ten years ago from a spokes person from a skincare-company, but I only listened with one ear.
I would say no to your question, the only thing that have worked for me to a 100% is to stay out of the sun. That off course not possible all the time, but I always use a SPF in the face, all year around now. That's the only thing that had worked for me.
I will try laser eventually, but even if I do that, I still have to stay out of the sun a much as I can to prevent them coming back.
And I use c-vitamin serums and tretinoin gel. AHA sometimes. That had helped me alot to prevent. |

It sounds like your sunscreen isn't protecting you if you are freckling through it. Do you use a chemical or physical sunscreen?
Obagi is the only thing that worked to get rid of my freckles, but you are very young and may not want to go through anything that harsh. I would try switching sunscreens to see if that doesn't help. (Retin A and C may help, but they will take a long time to see results - many, many months and even then they won't get rid of all your freckles if they are darker.) |

it's not like i have "tons" of freckles. Nothing out of the ordinary but i was freckleless when i was a child and now i have about 12 tiny freckles on my forearm (yes i counted)
The sunscreen that i've been using is just your regular spf30 coppertone. I only use suscreen in the summertime and as of lately i've been making my own vit c for the whole body. |

It's funny, first it's freckles, then it's sun spots, then it's age spots. It's all the same thing! Freckles is nicer to say than sun or age spots though. (and then it's a mole or a skin cancer- it only gets worse!)
To prevent new freckles you have to wear sunscreen every single day, not just in the summer. And in the summer be sure to reapply whenever its necessary. I have some light freckles from my tanning days but I don't have any new ones since I started with sunscreen. |

The Clear is the one that will take care of light freckles. However, I should say that the products are really meant to be used together and best results are had using all of the Nu Derm products. |

I agree with Nimue. To prevent freckles you need to use sunscreen every single day. If you don't want to do that, then I would not bother with products trying to fade the freckles as you will just keep getting more! |

I do use Clarins UV plus spf 40 every day. It's just the frackle showed more after my vacation. During vacation, i use LR Posay Anthelios 60. I don't get tan at all, freckle didn't add too much, just a little show up more... |
