Dr. Johnson,
Can you tell me more about where you get the stem cells from? You mentioned donors. What does that process look like? And how do you find donors. What part of the body do the stem cells come from? On your website, it says "Human Stromal Cell Conditioned Media" Why does it say Stromal, and not stem cell, and what is the difference?
Also, is there any risk that these could wreak havoc? If you look up Stromal on Wikipedia, it talks about Cancer cells needing stromal cells to spread. Please advise!

I would be happy to. We have utilized phosphatidylcholine as the liposome. The delicate nature of our growth factors prevents us from adding other actives but nothing else is needed. The growth factors have a 2 year stability because they come from the special process of culturing adult stem cells. The donors are carefully screened, by the way. There are over 150 growth factors so I will list a few here; Epidermal GF, Vascular Endothelial GF, Hepatocyte GF, Fibroblast GF 1-9, Insulin-like GF (part of HGH), Interleukins 1-13, Tumor Necrosis factor Alpha and Beta....
Basically everything your skin needs to behave like a teenager again...without the acne |

Hi. I have just joined today, because i have been reading all the very interesting comments about Osmosis products and i want to say thank you for the fantastic information.
I purchased some Osmosis today and this forum has been more informative than the clinic i went to!!
I have sensitive skin with redness and some broken caps.
I got the Skin Cell serum, Clear, Quench. Wanted the Cleanse but they didnt have it so got Purify and have to wait for the Calm. I'm hoping this will work wonders!
Anyway thanks for the information. |

Welcome to the forum Rosi!
I hope you end up liking Osmosis as much as I do. Our skin type sounds very similar. I would start with Mend and use it for awhile before you introduce Calm. The kits for Rosacea/Sensitive skin is a good deal (at least when you buy it from JoElla Milan). You basically get the Repair for free. I love the Repair. I used it a lot in the beginning, now I only use it when my skin needs something extra.
Good luck! |

Not sure I updated this but I'm now using the Enlighten for age spots. Only at night since I find it very thick and leaves a yellow tinge (especially mixed in with Catalyst). Also got the Apricot Mask but definitely prefer the Polish.
Considering getting a cleanser since I'm finally tired of the Wonderbar (think I'm the last user of it on here anyway).
Can anyone recommend which of the 3 cleansers is best? According to the catalog I got it says Purify for aging. I noticed they do not sell toners (unless you consider Clear), so I'm guessing the cleansers do a great job. |

Thanks Tme2Bme
Our skin type does sound the same!
I managed to get a kit, but the clinic didnt have a couple of the products, (Mend and Cleanse), so I got the Skin Cell Serum which is raved about everywhere, and Purify. Am a bit concerned that Purify is too strong, but i'll just introduce it slowly. I think Repair will be next on my list of things to buy!
I'm really impressed that the creator of Osmosis writes on this forum as well. Good to see someone listening to and communicating with the users of his products. He's over here (NZ) atm. I wish i'd known, I'd have gone to listen. |

I have tried the Purify & the Gentle Cleanse. If your skin is really dry or sensitive, I would stick with the Gentle Cleanse. In the winter months I only use Cleanse, but in the summer months I like to use the Purify in the am & Gentle Cleanse pm. Neither cleanser is harsh, but I think the Gentle Cleanse is more moisturizing. |

Just wondering, has anyone here tried Murad products? How do they compare to your Osmosis experiences?
I am on day three of my Osmosis, the only thing my skin seems to react to is the Quench moisturiser - I go very red, even when i put it on in a gentle patting motion. |

Rosi, do you mean the Quench? It has niacin in it, that might be why (right ladies?). Niacin is good for your skin.
Time2Bme, thanks for the reply. |

When I first started using the Osmosis products, my skin went quite pink, but it didn't feel irritated and my skin was fine by morning. Is this what you are experiencing, or is it red from irritation?
Until I used Osmosis, the only time my skin ever got red was when I was reacting to something in the product. This line is different. I think it was the products working on my skin, because my skin was really calm in the morning - only pink after using it at night. My skin still gets slightly flushed looking at night when I layer the products on, but not like it did. ALSO ... Are you using Clear? I find it makes a big difference. I know the cynics didn't think it was anything other than water, but I do find it calming on my skin. I use it 2x a day.
The skincare line has completely changed my skin. It has never been this calm. I hardly worry about red face anymore, which was my main issue. I had become extremely self-conscious about it and nothing had been working ... until Osmosis !! |

I think you are right Tme, the redness is not like it used to be at all. The only product that causes any redness at all is Quench and it passes pretty quickly. And that doesnt seem to happen as often.
I REALLY love the skin cell Serum, its amazing to see how much more translucent my skin looks in the am!
Yes i love the Clear, its amazing. I am still waiting for Mend to arrive, so it will be interesting to see what happens when i add that. |

And like you I had serious redness problems in my cheek area, nothing really got rid of it, just maintained it to a degree.
(had posting problems so that is why this is a separate post!) |

Hi Rosi, I hope you continue to have luck with the products. I absolutely love them. I only use either Mend or Calm at night. I used Mend for at least a week on its own and didn't have any issues. The 2nd week, I used Calm every 2nd day. I never had any problems introducing it that way. I tend to use Calm most often now, but if I've exfoliated I use Mend. I had to stop exfoliating before I started with Osmosis, but now my skin is in such good shape that I can do it.
Once you see how you tolerate the products, the other Osmosis product that made a huge difference in the redness was the Calming Powder blend. I use half a scoop (scoop comes with it) and blend it in with one pump of the Stem Cell and 3 drops of Catalyst. It is liquidy enough that the powder quickly dissolves and I spread it on my cheeks. I used it daily for a couple of weeks (pm only) and now only occasionally. The powder lasts a long time; the container is still over 3/4 full.

Did anyone who tried it (Whitewolf?) find that the Osmosis eye cream worked on undereye dark circles (due to thin skin)? Thanks in advance! |

Jenp7, I think it's helping me. Took some recent photos of myself and saw some improvement (not like "wow" but subtle changes), so I'll continue to use it. Every once in a while I have to take a night off because I'm new at using Retinal and get some redness but my skin's getting used to it more and more each time. |

Whitewolf, Yes the quench moisturiser seems to cause redness on my cheeks, even when i use the clear with it. I think its contact redness but not sure. Its worse on one side lol. I wonder if i should be using the milder moisturiser, but it contains spf and i need one to use at night.
Mend has finally arrived, so I am picking that up today. I'll talk to the beautician and see what she says. |

Rosi, how is your skin now, better? I don't use Mend, so I can't comment on it. |

I started with Mend. I used the Gentle Cleanse / Clear / Mend / Quench. When I first started my skin did get pinky-red, but it felt good. Normally if my skin gets red, it is because my skin is reacting to a product. In this case it did feel tingly for a few mins, but my skin looked calm the next morning. If you are red in the morning, this may be too strong for you. JoElla told me to start slowly. I would suggest using Mend before Quench once every three or even four days and see if you can use it. I also used Repair often when I first started with the line. It really helped calm my skin. Good luck Rosi. Let us know how you do. |

Hi, thanks for asking. I have taken a break from Mend, I was very red and my skin seems 'angry', i applied it in spot areas the next time i used it, but have now taken a break and will try again in a couple of days. I wonder if its too reactive for me at the moment. The woman at the clinic thought that Correct may be better (she had reacted to Mend) but i dont think she had redness issues.
I still use the cleanser and Stem Cell, and Clear. My skin is now quite dry and parched feeling, so I'm not completely convinced.
I will try what you suggested Time2Bme, thanks for that |

for dry skin, you can always try Immerse versus Quench, it's a bit on the oily side and can be mixed in with Quench. Immerse shouldn't be irritating. |

When I started Osmosis in the winter, I used one pump I'd Immerse & one pump if Quench. I mixed it together & applied it to my face and down my neck. I don't use the Immerse at this time of year. It is a grea product but it is thicker. I wouldn't use it in the am.
Be cautious with Correct. You can read up on the products on the Osmosis blog on JoElla Milan's site. If your skin is already sensitive, I think Correct would be too strong for you. Even now that my skin has improved, I still use either Calm or Mend.
I'd also email JoElla for advice. She is very good to do that. Her prices are also so good (between the sales & the reward points) that I only purchase from her. |

I'm using Quench, Immerse, Enlighten, Replenish, Catalyst, and Refresh PM. I was using Stem factor but it broke me out a lot. I also have Repair coming soon, areas around my nose and chin have been looking red lately (but it's also summer and hot out) & I think Repair will come in handy when I over exfoliate or use a strong peel. |

I think you will like the Repair WhiteWolf. When I started with Osmosis I purchased the kit for Rosacea/Sensitive & it was in there. I probably wouldn't have tried it otherwise but I'm really glad I got it. I put it on last - over the Quench/Immerse (it was winter & my skin was in terrible shape - this isn't what I need to do now).
My routine has evolved to:
AM: Gentle Cleanse (occasionally use Purify in the am) / Clear / Stem Factor / Catalyst / Replenish / Quench.
PM: Gentle Cleanse / Clear / Stem Factor / Catalyst / Replenish / Calm (or Mend if I have exfoliated or my skin is a little irritated) / Quench / Refresh PM.
in the winter I will add the Immerse back into my routine. Once in awhile I also take half a scoop of the Calming Blend powder & add it in. When I use it, it is at night. I will put a pump of Stem Factor, 1/2 scoop of powder & the I will add 4-5 drops of Catalyst on top & mix it with my fingers. It dissolves quickly & then I put it in my face - starting at my cheeks. I will do this fir a few days & it makes a huge difference. I tend to use it around my period - that us a time where my skin will get a little red.
Hope this helps. Because I love the line I have accumulated almost everything I could ever want !!! |

well, I have just applied Mend again. I used Clear, then about half a pump of Mend and gently patted it on rather than rubbing. Much less redness. Surprisingly the Quench/Immerse mix bought out more redness, but not as bad as the other day. no itchiness yet. Will let you know what i look like in the am!
Time, you obviously really like this product, judging by your list! i will have to wait a while before i buy any more as i have a sick cat to sort out first Nearly out of stem factor small bottle tho! Dont think JoElle ships to New Zealand. |
