Hi,

I am wondering, I have some minor pores on my upper cheeks below my eyes that seem to open up and get bigger every year and I was wondering if there is a remedy such as a lotion or anti-pore solution or something that will reduce them and make my skin look solid again?
I also have a few minor acne scars on my cheeks in the same area. Is there anything to hlep that as well? (Besides expensive laser treatment) Wink

Would a firming mask help stretch the skin in order to reduce the pores and acne defects? Also would a mask help give more refined, tighter facial features? What brands are the best and where can you buy them?

Thank you Smile

Hi, I guess I have a little puffiness under the eyes along with semi-dark circles I would like to reduce as well. So I guess I would say I would like to reduce some minor wrinkles. Other then that, there really is nothing else I am overly concerned about. Thanks for you help Wink

Okusil by Janson-Beckett is awesome for fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles. AlphaDermaCE is also for fine lines and wrinkles on the face and reduction of scares and stretch marks. You can do a search on AlphaDerma and read what others have to say. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them.

My personal experience is that Skinceutical's Overnight Renewal is good for smoothening out slight wrinkles and rough skin (with enlarged pores). So far, using this at night plus Vit C in the morning does make my skin firmer, more even toned, and definitely smoother with less obvious pores. For areas with more obvious wrinkles or scarring, you can use Skinceuticals Intense Line Defense.

cutevalleygirl - do you use any deep cleansing masks regularly? There's a good chance that your pore size might diminish if you keep your pores squeaky clean. My skin improved a lot when I started using the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream. It's basically this scrub that you "knead" into your skin and it sucks out impurities from pores. After two weeks my skin looked fabulous! I much prefer using this that a deep cleansing scrub because doing this gently EVERYDAY means that your pores don't fill up with crap and don't therefore look bigger (that's my logic anyway). If you don't like that idea you could go for a good deep cleansing mud mask (Dr Hauschka sounds like a good one, as does DDF, but there are many others I'm sure).

A vitamin C serum together with some exfoliation may also help you with the acne scars. I have found that using Dermalogica Microfoliant together with a vitamin C serum helps speed up the amount of time my skin needs to get rid of the red post-pimple marks. A product with Glycolic Acid (e.g. MD Formulations Cleanser which has 10% AHA I think) could also be a good choice.

Hi Mabsy

I've just started using Dr Hauschka's Cleansing Cream, Clarifying Toner and Normalising oil and really love it. My skin is basically ok apart from blackheads on nose.

I see from your post that you talk about Dr Hauschka's products and Skinceuticals. I love Skinceuticals as well and use Skinceuticals C+E, B5 Gel and SPF 30 cream. I am also using Relax-A-Line.

The problem I have is I'm not sure what order to put things on. Could you give me some advice? Also, could you recommend any under eye creams and moisturisers.

Many thanks

Fatsia - glad you're liking the Dr Hauschka stuff. I've had really good results with the cleansing cream for blackheads - VERY good results. I hope it works for you just as well - but please use it as directed (knead and massage it in rather than scrubbing).

I don't use all of the products that you have listed but if I was (and I wanted to keep using each and every one of them) here's what I'd be doing:

AM:
Dr H Cleansing Cream
Clarifying Toner
Skinceuticals C+E
Relax-a-line (where required)
B5 Gel
Normalising Oil (only where required)
SPF30

PM:
a cleanser before you use the Dr H Cleansing Cream
Cleansing Cream
Clarifying Toner
Relax-a-Line (where required)
B5
additional moisture if required

In all honesty I'm not too sure about the normalising oil so please don't quote me on this Smile Hopefully someone else might jump in and enlighten us...

In terms of eye creams (which go in the AM and PM categories above) I have a few suggestions. For an eye cream with SPF Murad Essential-C is my favorite. So you can use that during the day or use a normal eye cream with no SPF and use your SPF 30 around the eye area. For non-SPF eye creams my two favorite ones are Cellcosmet Eye Contour and also Babor Sensational Eyes cream. I don't have overly dry skin around the eye area but if you do then Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream makes a really good rich eye cream as well Wink If your skin is more oily or prone to millia then Babor Sensational Eyes Eye Gel is good and there have also been good reports of the Orlane Oligo Cooling eye balm.

If you like the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream then also try the homemade version, I love both and alternate between the 2.

cutevalleygirl-

Have you looked into IS Clinical Super Serum? I am wondering about it myself. Have you heard anything or have any thoughts on it? I just wish it weren't so expensive...

here's their website:

Hi mabsy, can I have some advice toooo!(Or anybody else that can help!)
I've previously had very congested skin and have been using jan marini glycolic products to keep it under control. A few months I'd decided I'd had enough with the struggle and started a course of roacutane. The results have been brilliant, I now have "normal" skin, YAY Very Happy
I'm now wondering whether I should lay off of the glycolic products a bit (I use glycolic clanser, bioclear cream, C-esta serum and eye cream)? I'm pretty happy with thes products, but I'm worried that using glycolic continuosly will leave me with leathery skin when I'm older? (I'm now 26) Or will it do the opposite and prevent wrinkles? Smile I'm used to having oily, problem skin, and now I just don't know what to do!!
My skin is still slightly uneven, slight pigmentation, and ENLARGED PORES, so these are the main areas i want to concentrate on.
Sorry it's a long one, thanks for any advice.

i have had the most success reducing enlarged pores and depressed acne scars with the Epidermx microdermabrasion protreatment/Silkia camellia oil. They work much better than the 5 sessions of microderm i did at my derm's and the glycolic acid peels i had used for months before. The derm's treatments and glycolic peels only reduced my brown spots, cleared my clogged pores and some blackeheads, and made my skin look better and smoother but they didn't do much for my enlarged pores and depressed scars.

I also have very enlarged pores, ecspecially around the nose. After reading your great reviews on the dr HAushka cleenser,I decided to dig out a tube I've had sitting in the cupboard for a couple of months! Used it last night for the first time and skin was left squeeky clean and glowing. Really enjoyed the massaging as well, felt as though I was having a mini facial. Slight breakout today, nothing to be worried about though. I'm going to give this a go, I'll keep you posted.

FYI - a slight purging process is normal when you first start using DHCC as the massaging action of the application technique creates a sort of “suction” that draws impurities in your pores to the surface. Once all that gunk is gone, though, and then it’s clear radiant skin!

For all of you DIY'ers or anyone who needs a quick fix, I have been adding cultured whole buttermilk to my baths and dabbing refrigerated buttermilk diluted with water (can't stand the smell)to my face. I was going for the AHA benefit and noticed that the biggest effect, believe it or not, was smaller pores! Yeay!! I love this stuff! I'm going to take this solution and put it in a spray bottle.

Hi Carekate,

I can see that the Recipe for homemade version of Dr. Hauschka’s Cleansing Cream was written by you. But all it contains seem to be almonds and oil. wouldn't that make your face really greasy? Do you need to clean your face again after using this? And where I can find Lysorbic acid? You said 'it should be thick paste, and when apply it, you add water to make it "spreadable" on your face', if it is spreadable, how can you "knead" into skin like previous posts said?

And rosebud, what's your opinion on this, how do you apply homemade version of Dr. Hauschka’s Cleansing Cream?

Thanks.

yuyu
