I own a high frequency device similar to the one sold through Palacia but have found it difficult to fit into my skincare routine.
I also use a LED device every second nigt. I have recently been using the led device on cleansed skin, toning with a toner, massaging the area with the high frequency device, and then finishing the rest of my regeime. Do you think this is okay? What ingredients should not be used in conjunction with the high frequency device?
I really need some help.
Thank you every one. |

Hi DarkMoon thank you for the link. Recommended reading definitely but could not find anything in relation to products that cannot be used in conjunction with this device. |

Hello again echoecho,
I believe it's also posted somewhere you can use most topicals just not Retin A and personally I would wonder about Vitamin C?
Keliu's post from page 15:
I'm baaaaack!! I've been in the wilderness with no phone or internet - snorkeling every day. So all my beauty treatments pretty much went out of the window (or should that be porthole!) - except for HF! It's so easy and quick, like brushing your teeth, so it was no trouble to keep on keeping on.
Regarding some of the questions that have been raised lately - yes, I have got rid of all the lumpy, crusty bits (solar keratoses, warts etc)! But HF is NOT a quick fix, it requires constant treatment, but eventually they will dry up and fall off. I've also completely cured my itchy scalp.
HF definitely kills bacteria and viruses - what else can kill a cold-sore overnight? (not even medication does that). For acne prone skin and breakouts of all kinds (including rashes) HF is extremely effective. It's also wonderful for zapping insect bites.
I'm also still treating my neck and bodgy knee. I've noticed if I don't do the treatment the pain comes back, so there's no cure. But if I do the treatments regularly, I'm pain free.
As for using HF on clean skin, or over topicals - I try everything. I mix things up. Sometimes I do a treatment on clean skin, sometimes after applying my serums (not Retin-A though) and sometimes I do both. I've never bothered with using the gauze though - but I've got skin like an elephant and the zapping sensation doesn't bother me. Likewise, I never bother with putting a finger over the probe before applying it to the skin. I think that technique is aimed at estheticians to avoid giving people a "shock" (not an electric one!)
I also can't be bothered to remove all my jewellery - but I do think it would be advisable to remove necklaces.
I'm also not pedantic in sterilizing the glass probes. I just give them a quick wipe with a tissue after I've finished. It is important to thoroughly clean them regularly though because the bottom of the probe can become encrusted and the connection can become effected. I usually use rubbing alcohol to clean them. For storage, I always put them back in their case. But I'm on a boat. If I was at home, I think I'd just keep them in a glass in the bathroom - like my toothbrush and toothpaste. |

I understand that the theory behind not using Retin-A or Vitamin C in conjunction with the High Frequency device is based on that it would cause excess irritation and inflammation to the skin as they are very skin-drying ingredients. |

Yes I also think the ozone would oxidize the Vitamin C if you used the HF too soon after application. |

I thought the Dermawand (similiar to the HF device) instructed to not use it with an AHA or BHA, if I remember correctly. |

I found this in my files on the Dermawand:
Quote: |
• We caution against the use of high concentrations of AHA or other abrasive products. When you apply your products and you feel a tingling or burning sensation this is a signal that your skin is in stress. Also, many of these products thin the skin in hopes of thinning out lines and wrinkles. We do not advocate this science. A woman's skin thins more rapidly than a man's. Skin that is thin cannot defend itself against lines or wrinkles or loosening. Even though initially the skin feels or looks more alive from these products, in the long term this causes added structure breakdown. We recommend the use of hydrating products and the Derma Wand. The Derma Wand promotes a natural exfoliation with enriched oxygen and is not overly aggressive. Our goal is to replenish the skin, not delete an all ready fragile condition. Strengthening the skin with hydration and the Derma Wand stimuli will fortify the skin's ability to defend itself against breakdown and you will be more successful.
• If you experience excessive drying, check your products. Are you using AHA's or glycolic acids? Even high concentrates of vitamin products such as A and C vitamins can cause unwanted stress to the skin. Try to use sensible hydrating products instead. |

You are right foxe, I have the dermawand and only use it with very basic mild products, when I think to use it at all! LOL I don't do the zapping on bare skin simply because I haven't anything to zap. But that works for pimples ect. |
