Hello friends,
Earlier today I purchased ReVive's Arrete Booster C. I was told at my age, 22, that I should start using a Vitamin C serum. I wanted the best available product and since La Prairie's (my favorite skin care line) was discontinued, I sought the Arrete Booster C from ReVive.
I use Retin A at night. Every night. I use the .05% strength and have had no skin irritation whatsoever. I have been using it over a week now. I want to continue using my Retin A at night. The Arrete Booster C says to use at night.
What are your suggestions? Should I use the Arrete Booster C in the morning (although it says to use at night) and continue using the Retin A at night.
Please advise on how a skin care junkie should use these 2 products. Thank you! |

I just looked up this product and I think you could save yourself some money by returning it and buying Skinceuticals C E Ferulic instead. The skinceuticals product is sort of the gold standard in Vitamin C serums and is designed to be used in the morning. It will help with sun protection too. The product you bought contains retinol which may be overkill for you and may be why it is recommedned for nighttime use. Also, it may be too soon for you to be experiencing the effects of the Retin A and you should probably hold off on starting the Vitamin C for a month or more until your skin acclimates to the Retin A. |

I think it's fine, a lot of products are recommended to be used at night only, but the truth is nobody has the time to sit around layering all these products at night and waiting for them to dry! Vit C also has added UV screening properties in addition to the antioxidant thing, so I've always used it in the AM under sunscreen. Please let me know what you think of the Revive product, I've been lemming for it for so long! |
