I'm going to make my own vit. c serum.
I've used serums at 15% vit. c, also one at 17% vit. c.
HOW can I determine the Percentage of C when make this?
Thanks |

The percentage is the amount of Vit C divided by the total amount of (Vit C plus base).
A simplified example of a 15% Vit C:
15grams L-ascorbic acid powder (Vit C)
85grams Distilled water
15 / (15+85) * 100% = 15%
Here's a calculator shared by Kassy_A.

Yes it is. 1gr = 1ml. This conversion is valid for watery liquids.
You have to decide how many ml of Vit.C serum you want to make.
Let“s say 50 ml. Use this formula:
(how many ml solution /100)* desired percentage =
grams of Vit.C you need.
(50/100)*15 = 7.5 grams |

Ok this may be totally off but I just checked 3 conversion charts/ apps. I have 2 on the iPhone both by weight and by volume I get 85 gr=3oz. 88.7gm=3oz. I admit my math has always been my worst subject but these are from 3 sources not my brain doing the calculations. Is this the total amount the recipe calls for?
I am asking as 3 oz. is a lot to make unless you are using it for more than just the face? |
