I've been using Retin A 0.25% for two months every other night now, and although I've been lucky in that I'm not peeling, and my skin is tolerating it well, I am starting to get cold feet a little.
I'm 35 and had a few fine under eye lines, and some very very fine lines on my upper lip from smoking. People normally age me at about 27-28 ish.
I really feel that I'm looking my age and a bit more now though! My skin is looking very dry, despite upping my moisturising and adding oil to my skincare routine. My fine lines have become verging on wrinkles, and all my pores are enlarged eeek!
Is this a normal phase, is it likely to go on much longer? I'm tempted to stop using it, but I just keep reading such wonderful reports on here from long time users. |

I started with .05% Retin A back in April. One day I woke up and under my eyes was so dry and wrinkled, I almost gave up. Instead I moisturized more and scaled down to every other day for a little.
The irritation and the dryness along with some uglies subsided and I got past it to where I can now use this product with virtually no wrinkles. My undereye area recovered as well.
However, I'm a lot older than you. Like you, I have a few very very fine lines near my lips which I want to reverse. I have never had pore enlargement so maybe someone else has that can advise you but I did have some early-on uglies with wrinkles that subsided. |

I wouldn't stop using it but maybe cut back to every 3rd day and see how that works for you. I know for me personally there was a rough adjustment period to using Retin A and I gave up multiple times...but once I was patient with it and did it every few days, my skin did adjust. I feel like it's worth it! |
