Hi guys,

I'm really just a watcher here most of the time, but you seem to know lots, and I hope you can help me with this one.

I had a bit of a freak accident recently, and it's left me with a scar above my eye which is quite long and (being still in the early stages) very obvious.

Naturally it's left me feeling very self conscious and I want to do everything I can to help it fade. I'm currently applying Bio-Oil morning and night, and vitamin E gel throughout the day.

Has anyone had good experiences/heard good things from others about any particular product or technique? I'm in England, so any recommendations would need to be available here or allow for international shipping.

Thank you so much!

Ouchy! Sorry to hear you managed to acquire a scar! I think in the early stages of the scar you're best using gentle products. Breaking natural vitamin E oil capsules (as opposed to synthetic ones) and massaging in was helpful for my scar (or at least it healed nicely). That was recommended by my surgeon.

After a while you can use some vitamin C serums and some exfoliation to help fade the scar.

Btw, in the meantime, if it's really bothering you, there are products that you can use over it that help hide the scar and heal it faster as well. Have a look at Dermatix http://www.essentialdayspa.com/dermatix_scars_treatment_remover.htm - I have not used this but perhaps you could ask around for opinions of those who have.

Hi,

My friend went through a car windscreen and had great results with the Decleor Prolagene she used it over vitamin E oil. I have heard great things about the Bio Oil though, hope the scar is reduced. Take care.

decleor prologene is great for scars but you need to persevere with it for 3 months. If there is any swelling/bruising then homeopathic arnica tablets will reduce that also.
