I recently tried this quick easy formula for shiny hair I saw in Marie Claire. Just take an avocado (which is good for your hair) and mix it with a Tbsp of olive oil and a tsp of baking powder. Work this mixture into dry hair and let it sit for 15 mins. After rinsing, apply a firm styling and finishing spray, I've switched to creative professional products as of lately. As you blow dry your hair it will help create the "blown back" effect. Use some bobby pins to pin back loose ends or for the perfect bump. |

is it just me, or does this sound messy/labour intensive?! I'd love to have the results without all of the mess....I can't even stand doing hair masks!! |

I personally wouldn't bother with an actual avocado (that would be too labor intensive for me:lol:) but the oils are easy. |

I use almond oil (1 tbsp) with vanilla extract (1/4 tsp); if you have longer/thicker hair you can double or triple the almond oil as necessary. You don't really need the vanilla, it just provides a nice scent.
You can either spritz your hair to dampen it or wash it with a gentle shampoo and use a towel to absorb the excess water. Then work the oil/vanilla into your hair, cover with a shower cap, leave it for 15-20 minutes and wash it out. If you have trouble removing the oil use a little lemon juice and water.
My hair is extremely dry but the almond oil conditions it and gives it great shine. |

Sounds like a nice alternative, I will have to try some of these out.
Thank you |
