Hello
I wonder if anyone here use Hakuhodo brushes? I heard many good things about this brand like better than Mac brushes, etc. But there're many lines in this brand and some lines are very expensive too.
If the same price to Mac, which one is better?
What lines should i choose? Of course not the S100 series
Thank you |

Hi jayraven,
I have 13 hakuhodo brushes and I'm ordering some more. They are really soft and very good quality. I have almost all of the currently available MAC brushes except 134, 191,194, and lip brushes. Since I got my hakuhodo face brushes I retired all my Mac face brushes except the duo fibers. Hakuhodo brushes are way softer than Mac brushes. It's even softer than my Trish McEvoy face brushes. And it doesn't shed at all. Basic series is the same with the S100 series. The difference is, the S100 ferrule is gold plated. G series have short handles. I have at least 1 brush from each series and I dont see the difference in quality. They all look well made. Just pick what you want. If you have more questions just email them or call them. They are very good in responding back. I love my Mac duo fibers and eye brushes but if you want face brushes skip Mac and get Hakuhodo. Hope this help. |

Oh I also got these two, which I forgot to mention:
1 x G5520BkSL Eye Shadow Brush pointed (H2242)
1 x G5528BkSL Eye Shadow Brush round (H2250)
I think I am completely set for makeup brushes! Won't be getting any more. (I have already a few mac brushes, the Jane Iredale Handi, a couple louise young brushes, and the shisheido foundation brush.) Actually I probably have way too many foundation brushes!!! |

Hi, i bought like 20+ Hakuhodo brushes at the beauty exhibition.
And they're all very good. Very soft.
And the prices are very reasonable, compared to the other brands sold. Also they do worldwide shipping which is very reasonably priced.
Are you Asian or non-Asian?
Because the girl behind the counter that sold me explained to me that each set is catered for Asian and non-Asian features.
I bought the Basic and K series. |

I'm South Asian (Indian), haha, so I don't know if I have Asian features in the way that Hakuhodo might be thinking of.
As far as the brushes I got, I love them, but especially love the ones with squirrel hair. I also love the pencil brushes I got - very useful and make creating different eyeshadow looks very easy. I would say the only one that's probably not worth it is the first brush I listed - the K022 powder brush. It's not particularly soft, nor is the shape all that useful. |

And the 210 brush is fantastic - it makes a great contour brush and is comparable to - but better than - MAC 109. |
