you know how it makes a moisturizer for effective when you mix it with HA, is the same true if I mix it with Retin-A? will it intensify the RA? |

Absolutely no. Don't mix it. To get the greatest benefits from RA, don't add ANYTHING.
I know many people mix it with a moisturizer to decrease the drying effects, but ideally, leave it alone if you want to get the best possible results (albeit with some of the unpleasant side effects.) |

I agree w/mountaingirl.
HA & moisturizer work well together because HA draws in moisture. |

yes I understand that it is best used alone, but until my skin adjusts, I'd rather dilute it. will mixing it with the HA and RA cause a chemical reaction or anything bad? I just don't want to give myself a burn or anything. I know that mixing RA with other acids can do that. |

If you want to mix your retin-a you are better off using a basic moisturizer. Using HA could just make you drier. |

I agree with GirlieGirl. One other thing that helps in the winter when you are using RA..sleep with a humidifier running in your bedroom. It really makes a difference! My routine is to cut back to using RA only 2-3 times a week in the winter and putting an oil on my skin at night on the other days (hemp or emu.) I also shave the peelies if they do surface...and wear a good moisturizer/sunscreen during the day. I credit 75% of my "good skin" to the use of RA! |
