Last night I got sucked into a forum talking about keratin straightening and I thought I'm sure there's expert advice here too.

my hair is sooooooooo frizzy and wavy, it's alien to me because I had straight hair most of my life.

I've been flat ironing but would love a better fix. I know that the straightening involves chemicals and someone I know that does it is now losing her hair.

What do you do for soft straight hair?

Hi Secretly,

I've been pining for the Coppola keratin treatment for about a year and finally succumbed to the temptation about a month ago. So far, I love it. Tho it is an adjustment for a life-long curly girl who now has poker straight frizz-free hair.

I have not noticed any hair loss. My hair is silky smooth and softer than soft. It was flat for the first couple of weeks, but now it has more body and feels really healthy. I love how fast my hair dries.

The only downsides (in my opinion) are: cost (BIGGIE) and the need to color more often, as roots show more with straight hair. My stylist applied the product right up to the roots, but not on the scalp itself. There was an odor, but with the salon fan blowing, it was not bad at all. (Nothing like the obnoxious odor from the Garnier Fructis Blow Dry Perfector, which I tried several months ago.)

After this washes out of my hair, I may try the home version. Not sure how it compares and it doesn't last as long, but just based on cost alone, it's worth a go.

This treatment is a frizz-buster and I can tell you that hair loss is not an inevitable side effect. It is a dream to wake up with hair that is not out of control!!!

Let us know what you decide.

I'm finally going to get the Global Keratin treatment today, the lady is offering 1/2 off so she said under 200$ most likely around 175, she has to see my hair.

I'm like you, I want to try and do the home treatment, after I get this done.

How is your hair now? Did it last and what kind of shampoo are you using?

I've researched a lot online so here's hoping it works and stays for at least a few months!

Oh and I was using Moroccan oil which really helped tame the frizz but still the whole routine every time I wash my hair is exhausting, and if I do something like hike at the beach I have a complete frizz attack!
