I believe I wrote about this months ago. After using my 2.0 dermaroller for the 6th time I realized the following day I had a very noticeable bump on my cheek (still there).
I then figured the 2 on my other cheek were probably due to the dermaroller also.
I asked my dermatologist if she could shave them for me. She said they appear (?) to run deep and I should have a plastic surgeon do it. Well, NO WAY - considering my derm would do it for free.
I asked about using a wart removal and she said Id burn my skin off.... well thats the point. Do you think i could try it if I was very careful?
I KNOW KNOW - shes the professional. But she doesnt know what the roller is and Im not sure she understands completely (I sure dont) how they formed let alone how deep...
just asking for more opinions
THANKS and happy holidays!! |

Well, I wont experiment with my face... if your derm said you need to go to a cosmetic surgeon then you should or just leave it alone for now and may be it will disappear on it's own.. but pls be very carefull... I woudl totally experiment if it was on the body but not the face!!! |

Oh yeah, the other point I want to make...
I had asked about a year ago and she said removing them would leave a scar. NOW this is what really has me questioning if she knows what shes talking about (i could go on and on about her and other drs who dont remember what they said at one time and then say something different).
It is what it is!!! She was going to do it before and I left considering the scar issue - then I go back and she "Cant" do it... |

may be, during the past one year, she has been sued by her patients for leaving scars! |

In the big thread, I recall reading that if a dermaroller is not sterile it can cause bumps. Those should be taken care of immediately. |

I developed these bumps, as well, on the area above my upper lip only. I wrote to Dr. Fernandes (Environ) and he assured me these were not caused by dermarolling. I honestly never figured out what they were caused from, if not the dermaroller, but mine went away. It took a long time, probably close to 1 year for them to just fade away. Daler, what have you tried to get rid of the bumps? |

I used dermaroller only a few times and then I just stopped.... I did develop some very small bumps, lateral to my eyes... it took few months till they shrunk and dropped off... I believe they were embedded skin cells due to dermatolling but not sure... mine were not deep but quite superficial...
I think dermaroller should be used only on existing scars to reduce em but on normal healty skin.

Actually mine arent small bumps - i have 3 and they are about 2, 3 centimeters. (I could be totally off on that - im talking about the small lines on a ruler.)
Anyway... they look like a cyst I guess. Although I looked up pictures on teh web and those were huge and nasty. Theyre not hard and are smooth and dont stick out too far. However when i turn my head you can see them. AND the two are at the end of my nasiofold (sp) so it just seems longer because of them and i want these things GONE.
Thanks..
PS I now hate my 2.0 dermaroller - saw NO difference in my skin otherwise. and to think my derm wants me to now spend hundreds to remove them???? big mistake! |

Those would be millimeters, mm.. but even then 2 to 3 mm is not that small.... I would say leave em alone for now, if they dont go away then you should think about going to a cosmetic surgeon instead of experimenting. |

Wow... I guess this is a note of caution to us who dermaroll! I always soak my rollers in rubbing alcohol prior to use... I know that isn't a foolproof solution for sterilization, but it seems to be ok so far.
I'm not advocating anything here, but have you looked into TCA peels for the bumps? I've had really good luck with TCA for removing surface imperfections. Done with caution, it is pretty miraculous stuff. I wouldn't recommend wart remover for anything except warts.. it is harsh.
I've developed some weird, 2-3 mm bumps on my body.. and not in areas that I have rolled -- one is on my shoulder, one on my elbow, one on my heel, and one on my hip (it developed before I started rolling.) Two doctors have told me they don't know what they are. I tried wart remover on one of them, and it just made it bigger. |

If you haven't solved this issue yet, you should try using wart remover. I used to have a few bumps on the forehead that remained there for years, not pimples, small bumps, it was just like a bump had almost formed under the skin.
So anyway, I figured if it could remove warts then it could remove bumps, at least it sounded highly likely to me at the time, and I was correct. They were gone two weeks later.
The trick is to find a wart remover that contains a combination of lactic and salycalic acid, applying once every second night with a very thin brush. It's important to use a thin brush because you dont want to affect the skin around it, just the bump itself.
The way it works is the solution continuously removes skin off the top of the bump.
If your into DIY still stick to a wart remover product because it will form a film over the bump where as just a mixture of the two acids would probably run and you dont want to affect the area around it. |
