Hey guys, when I shave I always just get my razor a bit wet and shave. Could this be damaging my skin or is it ok to do? Thanks!

Hi Emperor,

You didn't say if your were a guy or girl, but judging from your Tag I would say guy. Yes, do need to use a soap or shaving foam to act as a buffer, when you shave you actually take away the top layer of skin. Three great ranges for guys are:-

1. Decleor
2. Elemis
3. L'Occitane

They all do shaving soaps / balms / foams for the skin. Once you use them you will notice a great improvement on your skin.

If I am wrong and your female, I use the Elemis fascial wash the shave my legs and under arms and if I run out any of the L'Occitane shea butter soaps (they have a great foam which is almost like whipped cream).

Well, shaving my legs without soap would feel a tad uncomfortable but I could do it if I was in a situation where I had nothing to apply first. Keep in mind that many shaving creams help to lift up the hair on the skin (this is more so for guys faces I think) and therefore give you a closer shave.

Hey there

How do you do that? You must have really tough skin.

The best shaving cream in the world is Smooth Operator by SircuitSkin. Its the creamiest ive ever tried, and perfect for my skin that is wayyy sensitive to shaving.

If your on a budget Lush's Ambrosia Shaving Cream is also quite nice too.
