Hi, I am getting very frusterated with my eye area! I have always had problems with having darkness around my eyes. All through out growing up people wonder if I got enough sleep or if I was in fights. This alone would make me sleepy because it was depressing and didn't want to be looked at so it was easy to agree and say "yea I'm super tired".

I have serious alergies. Spring time is probably worst then summer time but I have to deal with it through both of those seasons and trust me I do some rubbing.

The skin around my eyes seems like it has gotten looser over the years and the circles more pronounced. I read that rubbing your eyes can damage the callegen and elasticity so I am guessing that part of the reason I'm 26 with baggy puffy eyes is probably because of all the rubbing. If I don't put some type of lotion on it boy oh boy the skin looks so dead!

I did a TCA peel last night and thought I had read enough information, but I guess I wasn't prepared for the burning sensation. I read an article saying that it may burn a lot but fades as frosting happens. Well, at the time of application I forgot about that article so I quickly rinsed off the acid. I was using a Jessners + 20% TCA combo. I read the Jessners was supposed to frost so I waited to see but as time ticked and it didn't I ended up removing it. I started with the idea to cover entire face and them rinse but as I understood the products more I decided to do a section at a time. My main priority in all this was to try to reduce the color around my eyes and improve the texture there, but I'm feeling it's not going to do anything (helpful). I applied the TCA to my eye areas and waited for it to frost (took about 40 seconds) and then I let it sit frosted for about another 10-15 seconds and rinsed off the solution. The area got shriveled and I didn't want to let it sit any longer. I read doctors using 30-35% TCA to this area and I am wondering how! When applying to the other eye it seemed to frost faster but I didn't wait to rinse it off this time because I wasn't sure if the skin shriveling was a good thing.

That all being said I sit here today with petroleum jelly on my face and was looking at the skin in the mirror. It feels like the skin around my eyes is so foreign to the rest of my body. I guess it's a little easier to see this stuff with the jelly on.. as I was sitting looking at my eye area I am seeing all these tiny veins popping out along the entire area that seems like foreign land. Judging by the contour of my face and how I have always rubbed and put pressure while rubbing the areas in question seem like trauma from all the allergy seasons (I never was good at taking my medicine so that probably didn't help).

I am sitting here thinking crazy crazy things to myself now as I am getting older and these characteristics are standing out more then ever. The eye area is the first place people look and is a huge impact on peoples impression of your mood etc.

I am wondering if there are treatments to remove these veins and repair the skin in that area. I read IPL can be used around the eyes, would that be a viable option for removing a nest of tiny veins? Also does anybody have any insight on if it does anything for the skin?

This is very frustrating!

IPL does WONDERS for those. My ex-husband had a ton ... and I do mean a ton...of them from sun exposure and years of heavy drinking. A series of 5 IPL treatments totally eliminated them. Beware, though... he looked like he had lost a bar fight after the first two treatments.

I have had four IPL tx myself, and I still have one left in the series I purchased. It has really helped with my ruddy nose and cheeks.

You could definitely try a vitamin K cream! There are multiple studies which seem to say it works well around the eyes for puffiness and rings!
