Hello everyone -
I am just wondering if anyone has experience with using Skinceuticals CE Ferulic, and if it is OK for use on oily skin as I recently read an article stating that it is better for dry-normal skin types (http://www.treatment-skincare.com/Skinceuticals/Serums/C-E-Ferulic.html)
I would use it twice per day. During the day it would be applied before makeup.
My current skin care regimen is listed below. My main skin concern is uneven skintone. I have a lot of spots on my face - I guess they are freckles, but they are less defined. They look more like splotchy yellow/brownish discolourations, and are mainly on my cheeks. I wear a 30+ sunblock each day and don't spend much time in the sun, but here in Australia, the sun is particularly harsh because we're under an ozone layer hole, so the UVB/A index is generally much higher than anywhere else in the world.
The main reason I wanted to use this product is because some time ago I posted on here asking for advice on my skin care regimen, and many people told me to try a Vit C serum (and used this product as an example), as my skin could do with some more C and an antioxidant. I am turning 29 in a few months, so obviously I am also interested in its anti-aging benefits as well.
Thanks!
Products I use:
------
MD Formulations Cleanser with Glycolic
Dermalogica Active Moist
Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster SPF 30
Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub (once-twice per week) |

Vitamin C only needs to be used 1x a day.
I think you wold be better off with C or CF. Personally I would choose C because CF has a high alcohol content. If you skin is resistant then CF is probably ok.
CE is not the best option for oily skin. But you could buy a sample to give it a try before you invest in the full size bottle if you really want to try it. |

I have oily skin and the CE serum gives me blackheads. I think its the propylene glycol that leaves a sticky feeling to the skin. It won't, at least for me, sink in until an hour or two after application. Definitely stick to the recommended four drops. I slathered this when I first used it and it broke me out. With four drops I just get blackheads here and there.
Your skin might have better luck. You might want to try a DIY C serum that way you can leave out any ingredients that might break you out or give blackheads. |

Thanks for your advice. I really don't want to use a DIY C serum; it may be an easier, cheaper alternative, but I would much rather use something ready made. Most of the C serums have other additives that are of benefit that you can't add to something you make yourself.
I am just wondering what product I could use that would have similar results. The article I linked to in my first post said Skinceuticals Phloretin CF is better suited for people with oily skin, but it doesn't list as many - if any - of the benefits of the CE Ferulic.
Has anyone used/can recommend the Phyto-C products listed on the ESD store? Or Cellex-C? |
