Greetings,
I've been lurking on this message board for a while in order to put together a skin care routine that has a chance of being effective in battling the deep lines in my forehead and the fine lines around my eyes (and whatever else will be coming at me). Please let me know if you have any recommendations or comments on the following regimen. I've started doing most of it already. I have yet to add the copper peptide part, but I am doing all the rest. The only result I've had thus far is never ending peeling of the area around my mouth and chin from the Retin-A, which the Vitamin C seems to exacerbate. I have done Botox two times in the distant past, and it was very effective with the forehead lines. But, I've been breastfeeding for the past 3 years and pregnant/trying to get pregnant two years before that. So, the lines are fairly deep now. I've entertained the thought of fraxel repair and other more drastic procedures, but I figured I'd give the less invasive treatments the good college try. I also have a NuFace, but don't know where that fits into this routine. If you have a suggestion, let me know. I really dislike using their conductive gel and have used hempseed oil and jojoba oil in the past for conduction. Maybe I could add it on the Retin-A day after applying Emu Oil. Again, any suggestions, recommendations or knowledge you can throw my way would be greatly appreciated.
MORNING
1. Wash with water and pat dry.
2. Apply Vitamin C Serum/Cream (if skin isn't sensitive) or Emu Oil (if skin is sensitive) - let dry.
3. Apply Sunscreen (Reapply throughout day as needed).
NIGHT (EVEN DAYS)
1. Wash with Cetaphil.
2. Exfoliate with Sonicare and pat dry.
3. Apply Copper Peptide serum (starting with Super GHK Copper Serum and working my way up)
4. Roll with 0.5 mm needle.
5. Reapply CP serum (and/or Green Tea Serum?) - let dry 15 minutes.
6. Red LED for 20 minutes.
7. EMU oil or other moisturizer and Copper Peptide Night Eyes.
NIGHT (ODD DAYS)
1. Wash with Cetaphil.
2. Exfoliate with Sonicare.
3. Apply Retin-A Gel - Let dry 1 hour (starting with 0.025%).
4. Apply EMU oil or other moisturizer.
EVERY 8 WEEKS
1. Wash with Cetaphil.
2. Exfoliate with Sonicare and pat dry.
3. Apply Copper Peptide serum.
4. Roll with 1.5 roller on trouble areas.
5. Reapply CP serum (and/or Green Tea Serum?) - let dry 15 minutes
6. Red LED
7. EMU oil or other moisturizer and CP Night Eyes. |

Hello!
Just a few thoughts:
Overall - you are incorporating some of the best actives: Retin A, Vitamin C, etc. I would tweak it a bit.
- I do not use a dermaroller - but have done quite a bit of research. I believe that using a 0.5 roller every other night might be too intense. I think 0.25 would be better for product penetration.
- It is great that you are starting out with the mildest form of CPs. I would not apply it twice in one night. In the beginning, I would also be hesitant to apply emu on top of the CPs are it will help push the CPs in deeper. In time, use the emu oil second - just not to start.
- It also looks like you have a lot of exfoliation going. Retin A, Clarsonic, C serum (if it is LAA) is quite a bit.
I hope this helps. These are just my opinions - this forum has been a great resource. |

Erg,
Thanks for the reply. I really haven't been able to use the Vit C the past week and a half because of skin sensitivity from the Retin-A. I think I'll try the 0.25 needles, mostly from a comfort point of view, plus I need to get one with a smaller roll head for one of my more troubling spots (nook above the nose). Thanks again. I appreciate your review of my regimen.
Best, P |
