I ordered Retin-A micro (.04%) from All Day Chemist and applied it tonight for the first time. It feels grainy and I wasn't expecting that. Is that how it's supposed to feel? |

I did not expect that either, but this is my experience too with retin-a micro from ADC. Now I get a prescription from my doctor and buy it from a regular pharmacy in Canada - this one does not feel grainy. |

Thanks, Luciana. I bought 6 tubes! I'm willing to put up with the grainy-ness until I finish what I bought, and then get it somewhere else next time - IF I know that it's still effective. Do you think the grainy-ness has anything to do with its effectiveness, or is it just something about the way ADC makes it?
Since you got a prescription, did you buy from Canada just because it's cheaper than a local pharmacy? Would you mind telling me which pharmacy you used? |

I have been using Retin A micro 0.04% from ADC for a year now and have had great results. I am still peeling a little after one year - I use it every two nights. |

Priusgal,
Does yours feel grainy too? That's encouraging to hear about your results. |

Mine doesn't feel grainy but I would still use yours and let us know how you are doing. |

I think that the grainy-ness may not necessarily have an impact on its efficacy - and others users testify it works for them. I used it for just 1 month, could not really tell if it works, but did not notice a comeback of pimples or anything that would suggest it is not efficacious. I live in Canada, this is why I buy it from a Canadian pharmacy. |

I assume the graininess must come from the miscrosponge delivery system. The tretinoin is encapsulated in tiny microspheres. |

I think the grainy-ness is normal. My Retin-A Micro has always been slightly grainy, especially the higher strength, and I got it through my doctor. |

That's interesting, Gretchen. I had planned on ordering from Medsmex, but then read that they had changed hands and people were having trouble getting their orders, so I went with ADC instead. I'm using my tubes anyway, grainy-ness and all. |

Yes my last order took 6 weeks and they sent the wrong strength. However it is brand name Retin-a so I'm happy. |
