So I've always suffered and worked with the inevitable white cast of zinc sunscreen. I finally found one that has zero white cast. Anyone know if I am I getting less protection due to the lack of reflective properties of mineral sunscreen with a heavier white cast? Thanks very much,

Thanks for your interest. It's the latest DeVita sunscreen with 19% Zinc Oxide as the active. Zinc particle size, according to DeVita CS is on average 250 NM. Thanks again,

I think Devita sunscreen is great. I have been using it and I have not gotten any pigmentation or color on my skin. Granted it is winter, so that may make a difference. I think new technology makes it possible to get good protection without a white cast, but that is just my opinion. |

Yes you can get good sun protection with out a white cast. Most often the zinc has been micronised making it less visible. However there is some debate whether the particles can as a result enter the skin. While generally zinc oxide is harmless, high doses have not really been researched. |

Excellent. I am not terribly concerned about the micronized zinc issue. I just wanted to see if DeVita's SS was actually effective. Btw, the latest edition of it is now in a tube (like the body block) and is in the amount of 2.7 oz (bigger). The texture takes some getting used to because it seems to ball up when I have moisturizer under it or makeup over it:/ |
