This is a post for everybody to discuss opinions on finishing powders.

I know when I first started using make-up, my only options were the drugstore brands, and all the "translucent" powders had a bit of color, and they would all darken or get orange due to oil and sweat. My skin is very fair, and I wished somebody would make a powder that didn't have ANY color. And then I discovered BABY POWDER! Translucent, matte, wonderful, and cheap! It was a life saver; I bought a little container to stick in my purse; I was in love.

Well, it's been over a decade now with my trusty baby powder, and I'm wondering if I need to grow up to a real finishing dust to set my make-up. Because while searching for a new foundation (my old one was tragically discontinued), I've discovered a whole world of non-pigmented powders out there. Will these give me better results? Look nicer, last longer?

What are you all using, and why?

I used baby powder for a while when I was in high school - 30 years ago! Back then I discovered Corn Silk powder. (I don't know if they still make it.) I also liked Coty Airspun powder that is still available in the US.

I really like finishing powders (or finishing veils) from mineral makeup companies. I have tried a lot and there is a few good ones out there. I like the Perfecting Powder from Silk Naturals the best. I also use a little Blur (silica based) on my T-zone.

Rice Powder is a nice option for oily skin. I have a nice one from Lure.

I would stay away from the ones that contain corn starch.

Almost all the MMU companies offer samples.

I also used baby powder when I was like in junior high. Very Happy Translucent powder is still a staple; these days I like Coty Airspun and once in a while Laura Mercier translucent. The CA gives a little more coverage overall.

A product that might work for you is elf HD powder... I'd like to buy it except they are out of stock. Wish my local Target carried it.
