This is a such great forum with enormous valuable skincare information shared by all the members, i'm so glad i found it Laughing

I've read someone on this forum mentioned about using low ph cleanser or toner before ph sensitive skincare products (like aha, vc etc.) to save wait time and get better results.

After searching lo ph toner and cleanser for a while, an idea just came across my mind: since i've already had a low ph aha lotion, can i just use it twice, the first application is merely to replace low ph toner and cleanser? This way, i don't need to buy extra stuff any more.

Anybody knows if this is workable? or am i missing something here?

Many thanks!

You want to replace your cleanser & toner with an AHA lotion? I don't think that will be very effective.

Sorry i might've not said it clear in my post Embarassed

I meant to use an extra application of low ph AHA instead of low ph toner or cleanser to cut the wait time, so i can continue using my own toner and cleanser which are not low ph.

Do you think it will work? anything i need to be aware of?

Thanks.

I'm still a bit confused as to what you mean by "wait time" but if you're using the AHA simply because you think it will balance the pH on your skin, it will not work as well as a toner would. AHA's are slightly more acidic to produce a better exfoliating effect. If your toner and cleanser isn't already pH optimized for your skin, you should consider switching to one that is as it may damage your skin over time.

Also, I forgot to add that pretty much all of Dermalogica's products are pH balanced, so you may want to consider switching to that. Wink

Ok, I think I see what you are saying now. No, I don't think that will be effective for that purpose.

Personally I don't think its as big of an issue with AHA as it is with retin-a. I never do any waiting time with AHA/BHA.
