Disclaimer: I looked through the other threads and couldn't seem to get a straight answer, so I'll try here.
I'm on the hunt for a good sunscreen I can wear under my makeup that won't lose potency. I'm currently using a cream foundation. I am looking at the sunscreens that skin-beautiful dot com offers in samples to try, specifically Avene and Bioderma. Are there any others than offer great uva/uvb protection (I like the idea of a high pdd!) that should be on my list. I don't wear mineral makeup so I'm not worried about the avobenzene.
Will using sunscreen with my makeup make it lose its power (for lack of a better word)?
Also, are there any threads that debunk myths? I feel like the more I read, the less I know and I want to make sure I'm not missing anything! I'm 24 and have some seriously moody skin in the winter. I would also appreciate a good vitamin c serum recommendation. Should I be using anything else beside a good sunscreen, c serum, and moisturizer? Perhaps something at night? Thanks so much in advance! |

MAC does a good primer - prep & prime with SPF 50 - nice matte finish, tho a bit pricey at £21 for a small tube. A little goes a long way though |

While I don't have a product recommendation because I'm looking one for myself, I can tell you that applying makeup on top of sunscreen won't make it any less effective. In fact, makeup itself can act as a sunscreen (though not by conventional definitions) since it's literally a layer of pigment sitting on your face which shields SOME UVB (not UVA). You can also look into foundations that have spf built into them like Jane Iredale |
