A face oil, to be specific.
Anyone have a strong opinion on this either way?
I haven't been able to find anything that convinces me this is bad to do. I was at one point in my life having 50/50 water/DMSO instillations into by bladder (a mainstream, though somewhat outdated, treatment) by a urologist, so I am not particularly afraid of it. And I put in very little!
Anyone else ever consider DMSO? |

Not sure if anyone is still checking this thread but I was curious about this too..DMSO mixed with oil....I have tried mixing it in a glass bottle with Aloe Vera gel (from Mountain rose herbs.) At a ratio around 40% Aloe to 60% DMSO.
It kind of acted weird but still was okay. The weird thing was that it sort of globbed up and seems some of the aloe gel did not absorb with the DMSO well. not sure if I did it wrong since I just put it the glass bottle and just shook it to mix it...but when I applied on my skin it seemed sort of okay but as I spread it I was left with some unabsorbed clear globs here and there. |

DMSO is very powerful, use with caution and take every precaution that u don't ingest it, even the little bit left on fingers.. it's banned for a reason... |

Yeah, when we used DMSO in the lab, we always had to use gloves and we were told that it's toxic. You can always look up the MSDS (materials data safety sheet) for safety precautions. |

There is a link to the MSDS for it on the page below..skin contact is not recommended.

But there are some medical uses mentioned on this page:

I was told by someone, who is sort of a pharmacist, that DMSO can take almost any active down to the bone, when applied topically.. while it could be useful for medical reasons, I don't think we need cosmetic actives and all the preservatives and solvents going that deep!
It's supposed to be v useful for arthritis and deep muscle spams etc... |
