I want to bid on an item with a starting bid of 29.95. I have a set limit and was wondering if I could bid that amount but.......will ebay put my bid at 29.95 and if others bid it will keep going up with each bid in increments? I don't want to deal with having to keep bidding and I won't go over my set limit. |

Hi Frodo,
Ebay will only bid to your highest bid; they cannot bid over your limit.
For instance, if the starting bid is $29.95 and you submit $45.00 as your highest bid, and you are the first bidder on the item, it will show a bid of $29.95. If others bid above that, Ebay will automatically raise your bid in specific increments, but will stop at $45.00. They will also notify you via email when or if you are outbid. They'll also notify you if you win.
Hope that makes some sense and helps a bit!
Hope you win (for the lowest price possible!) |

Thank you so much. I just didn't want my limit amount to be the first bid. I kinda had a feeling that it wouldn't do that but I just wanted to make sure. Off to place my bid. |
