Uh the title wasn't long enough but I figured you WOMEN could help me out here because you know a great deal more about skin than men do.
Anyways here's the situation. I am a 19 year old male. Ever since I started puberty I developed little bumps on my genitals. I tried to attach a picture but it wouldn't let me.
Now that I am older, I want begin relationships and these really don't boost my confidence
I've done my homework (all the cosmetic homework that a man could do at least) and have been following the following regime:
The most controversial thing that I do not know if I'm completely making things worse or making things better is exfoliation. I have been exfoliating my skin every other day, then I moisturize with a slave that has tea tree and neem 3x a day. Should I be exfoliating? Is the salve I'm using good? Internally I am taking 100 B-complex 2x/day,400I.U vit E, 1g vit C, zinc, and 1 tsp of cod liver oil. I wash the area once a day with tea tree soap. My diet is pretty much vegetarian, but I used to be the exact opposite (fast food 5x a week at least ). It's gotten WAY better with my diet change, but they are still there. On a scale from 1-10 I'd say they went from an 8 to a 3
Do you guys have any advice on what I should be doing internally, topically, or diet related? Have you gals seen penis's like this before? Thanks for the advice! |

I doubt anyone has any experiencing in treating little bumps on the genitals, but I don't think the skin there is meant to be exfoliated. It's very sensitive, which is one of the reasons why pubic hair grows there (to prevent and abrasive rubbing). Your concern should be addressed to a doctor as this could be an indication of something internal. |

Well what the "bumps" are is sebum and keratin clogged in the pore. So I didn't know if maybe trying to remove the skin would expose the pore and eventually allow the sebum to exit. Basically I need to somehow to stop/slow/diminish the excess oil flow to that area, or somehow unclog the pores again weather it be through internal or topical methods. I don't really want to ask my Mom for advice
so I figured this would be a place where I could get some good advice. Is there a way I could post a picture? |

I think without a medical examination there is no way of knowing for sure what these bumps are. As a mother of 4 grown kids all 22 and over, there are walk in clinics you can go to, and being over 18 you don't need mom's permission. This may not be what you want to hear but if you plan on becoming intimate in the near future, you need to not be shy about having a doctor check.
New members cant post pictures or links until they reach a certain number of posts (helps cut down on spam) but I am not sure a picture of genitalia would be allowed as 13 is the minimum age for members? |

I still don't think it's a good idea to put anything near the genitals unless it's actually indicated. I would definitely refrain from using the oil cleansing method if you're going to include certain plant extracts because they may affect your hormone levels (e.g. lavender oil has been known to cause gynecomastia in males or something similar). Best to get in the habit of seeking advice from a health care professional as you will probably need to talk to them more down the road. |

If the bumps are on your scrotum and penis shaft, there are lots of them and they are fairly evenly spaced, they are more likely to be normal hair follicles (all of us have them, it's just in some guys they're more prominent).
If they are around the edge of your glans (head of penis) and have a whitish appearance, they are more than likely pearly penile papules (angiofibromas). About 20% of men have them, more often than not in uncircumcised men but it is possible to have them if you're circumcised. They're not infectious, in fact they're there to keep your glans moist. Trying to remove them could seriously disfigure you.
Your best bet is to see a doctor to get confirmation on what they are. Most likely though they're nothing to worry about and normal. |

Thank you Josh,
I agree about seeing a doctor just for verification they are not something to worry about. Having another male explain what might be going on is a blessing. |

And I thought I knew everything but never heard this before. I date uncircumcised men so this is good to know so I don't freak out at an inopportune moment. |

LOL @ SoftSkin
First time I saw them I freaked out until they were explained to me!
I should say too for the OP that they aren't always whitish in appearance (though that's most common). Sometimes they can have a fleshy colour. |
