This idea came from an EDS member post on another thread I started called "What do you wear behind closed doors?" The issue is that most don't want to wear good quality clothes at home due to the fear of ruining them or the wear & tear process would speed up. I have an issue with having a hard time finding clothes that last wash after wash and I can't seem to find those "wrinkle free" clothes that promises limited ironing.

I think EDS members who are also important consumers should get together and support each other on demanding quality clothes.

What if we can share what we've seen or bought that is quality clothes so that others, if needed, can find those type of clothes. Therefore, retailers see that consumers demand quality. If not that, just to help other EDS members find good quality clothes.

I personally don't shop a lot and find it taking me away from other things I love to do and to have to search for quality clothes. It can be costly to buy high end clothes that doesn't always guarantee quality and always having to 'dry clean' only on the label, which most find to be too costly.

Is there a certain brand that is generally known for quality that you know of?
Did you see something on-line that has a good price and good quality? Would you share it with us?

Well, i found i can always relay on Coldwater Creek - http://www.coldwatercreek.com/
Their repertoire suits my every day office life. Quality is great! I wear their clothes for years and they look like i just bought them.
Their regular prices are not cheap, BUT they have a lot of events like 25%, 40% or even 60% off everything on site. Especially on big holidays. Plus their Outlet is never empty Smile

For special occasions i usually shop Chico's - http://www.chicos.com/store/home.jsp
OR Cache - http://www.cache.com/

I handwash most of my clothes and let them air dry. They last a lot longer and don't fade as quickly.

If you want quality you have to pay for it.

Google Simpli - a Vancouver Canada designer/manufacturer. Good simple designs, quality fabric, designed for mature bodies, expensive, but can be combined and modified for different occasions.
Or - consignment shops for great quality at MUCH lower cost.
58 & looking great!

I wash all my work clothes in the bathtub, they last for years. I think its the washing machine agitation that does them in- they keep getting stronger and stronger for those "tough stains".

There is a real science behind the fabrics used. In order to reduce wrinkles and increase strength, synthetic fibers need to be mixed in with natural fibers. Unfortunately, synthetics almost always make clothing less "breathable" and a bit less comfortable. I love the clothing derived from bamboo because of how soft it is but I imagine it wouldn't hold up as well as a blended fabric in the wash. I've found that Brooks Brothers has good wrinkle resistant shirts and even Tilley's has stepped up their game to make their merchandise a little bit more fashion forward than in the past: http://www.tilley.com/Women-Skirts-Dresses.aspx

Keep the suggestions coming. Thank you for starting this thread!
